our last post died. like really bad so I’m making a new one

my gf and I are a black wlw couple who are trying to make it to mid August when my job starts and we need help until then. my gf needs money for her estrogen, I need money for my psych meds, and we need groceries to feed an 8 person household + a cat, and our phone bill

because of the heatwave and following storms, we haven’t been able to go out to the food bank, and while we no longer live in a food desert, the car has been in the shop for about a month now so it’s basically just been cup noodles since june, but we’ve run out.

I get that things are hard for everyone, and I hate having to make this post but we really have no other options rn as my gfs potential clients are leaving her on read and my job doesn’t start for another month.

It is such a hopeless feeling to see someone who is a dear friend, who you care so deeply about living with a constant threat on their life and not be able to help.

It has been 3 years of genocide in Gaza, and people like my friend @mohdayesh are still trapped in Gaza with no escape from their treacherous daily life.

Mohammed's wife is pregnant and to this day dealing with the pain of having a bullet lodged in her chest. And Mohammed is bearing the responsibility of trying to keep his family taken care of to the best of his abilities with the limited resources he can get his hands on.

Mohammad and I often spoke of his desires to start a life for himself and his wife outside of the war zone, away from the genocide, where they can finally have a taste of safety and security. There is nothing more that I want than the ability to snap a finger and help him achieve their dreams, but unfortunately that's not within my power. All I can do is plead with you to help.

Mod'd is my friend and someone I've been working with for the past 3 years to ensure that you can trust where your money is going and weed out harmful actors taking advantage of the crisis in Gaza. And he has worked tirelessly to that end. He often doesn't ask for help for himself because he wants to see others thrive, but now he has a wife and a child on the way and he can't sit and watch as they suffer in this genocide.

He is trying to reach a preliminary goal of £3,000 on his gofundme, and has reached £2,046/£3,000 up until the time I'm writing this post.

You all might remember my beloved friend Maram. She is, thank God, still safe. Her six-year-old niece Jouri, however, is not. Please help her have a childhood elsewhere by donating to help get her out of Gaza.

Maram writes: My niece Jouri Faraj is stuck in Gaza, living with her step-mother and grandmother. She is without adequate food and hygiene, constantly hungry. Her father, my brother, was detained by Israeli forces two and a half years ago without any charges and no one has heard from him since, leaving her without protection in a violent and chaotic time.

It breaks my heart to say this, but already she has been sexually assaulted, at only six years old. There is no law in Gaza right now and no way for women and children to keep safe. Jouri cannot go to school, play with her friends, or even live with hopes and dreams.

There is no real childhood in Gaza.

Please help me get her out. She has a great-aunt she can live with in Egypt. I am currently living in Ireland, but as soon as I can, I can be reunited with her. Because her own mother never raised her, I was like a mother to her until I got out of Gaza myself. I know I can provide her with the love and care she needs

not seeing a lot of people on here talking about ICE murdering another man yesterday. His name was Lorenzo Salgado Arajou. He was a Mexican man living in Huston Texas. He was killed at age 52 and lived the past 35 years here in the USA, and was in the process of obtaining a work permit. He was shot and killed during a traffic stop that ICE claims was part of a targeted operation, and claimed he was “weaponizing his vehicle”- the same claim ICE agents made when they shot and murdered Renee Good.

During the stop, Lorenzo had 3 coworkers with him in his truck who have all been taken into ICE custody.

His family described Lorenzo as a hardworking family man who didn’t deserve to be killed. All he wanted was to provide for his wife and see his sons become great people. His eldest son recognized his father by his cries and pleas when trying to identify who the victim was.

The Salgado Araujo family has set up a gofundme to help with funeral and legal costs, and to help keep their family supported since Lorenzo was the sole provider.
