Do you know what INTJ's tend to empathize or sympathize with? Because I have little to no compassion for certain people if they got themselves into the mess, but I have a lot of compassion for animals and people that are just misunderstood (I.e Boo Radley in 'To Kill Mockingbird'). If someone is crying or in a 'tough' situation I honestly don't care and think they should just suck it up (but I pretend to care) because I feel there are people who have it a lot worse.
I guess it just depends on the INTJ. I know for a fact that if that person got into the mess themselves, especially with the warning of an INTJ, then you’ll find no pity. I absolutely hate when I give perfectly good advice and it’s completely ignored. I also believe that most INTJs identify with misunderstood characters and people (even the villains!) because INTJs typically are misunderstood by others. So it’s a kin ship thing. I tend to find a lot of compassion and pity if someone is being picked on or abused by someone else. But my level of compassion is probably because of the environment I grew up in where I saw a lot of people being bullied, harassed and so on. Overall, I believe that we INTJs find it really difficult to understand compassion or pity unless we’ve experienced the situation ourselves and fully understand the emotional background. Otherwise, we just see the facts of the situation and come to a conclusion that doesn’t rely on feelings. PS- Animals are cute and anyone can feel compassion for them. I mean, have you seen cats?!
