Hey , i know its not your degree but youre pretty into fashion so thought id ask anyways :) . I study fashion branding and we have an assignment like a step before a dissertation but im struggling to come up with a question for it. I want it to be relevant obviously but not what everyone else is doing which is mainly ethical fashion from what Ive heard. The broad topic of how fashion and feminism go interests me but i dont know what question related to this i could aim to answer. Any ideas ? 😭

I think you could tackle whether fashion can be feminist, or ways in which brands aim to promote equality and whether they succeed? In some ways the beauty standards propogated by the industry seem to inherently conflict with feminist ideals, but there are aspects of fashion (especially when you look exclusively at clothes, and the ways in which women aren’t expected to conform to ‘feminine’ ‘pretty’ dressing anymore as separate from the industry) that could be seen to be progressive in some way.
