First writing prompt in awhile #1
[This is an attempt to shake off the dust in the writing part of my brain- lets see what randomness comes out using a writing prompt]
[This is with my OCs that I have also allowed to catch a lot of dust ;u;]
The endless ticking sounds of the clock caused a stir in Lea’s mind, a stir that matched the erratic rhythm in her chest. She didn’t quite know how she was going to go about this, why she even decided now was a great time above all the others. She picked at her nails, time seeming to never move as she waited.
‘Why now?’ She thought, not understanding why now was such an important time. It felt like a cheesy teen movie, how fate was forcing her to do this against her own will and how she just had to blurt it out right at this moment. Her fidgeting only seemed to get worse, only irritating her more as she never gets this nervous for any occasion let alone just speaking her truth to someone.
She decided to make an attempt to take her mind off her racing thoughts and began organizing her journals, the same ones she organized a million times only to put them right back into the same order. These journals ranged from her early childhood years to her school journals all the way until just a few days ago when she felt like writing. Lea struggled to voice her emotions out loud, adding to the reasons why her anxiety was quickly rising with every passing second.
A sigh escaped her lips, hanging in the air before dropping into the floor. Her thumb rubbed across the coarse leatherback of her journals, knowing that those pages were filled with much worse than what she was going through right now and the reaction she was expecting to get.
She heard the locks on the door turn, snatching every cool she thought she had in her body. The jiggling of keys, the soft humming of the person entering the household, the cold air breezing in from outside. Though the air was the last thing bringing her chills. Winter boots squeaked against the floor as the were squeezed off, a tiny huff of relief and irritation coming from the soul that was now shoeless. Lea turned, her heart picking up speed as she saw her beautiful girlfriend Silvia coming in from work.
Their eyes met and a goofy smiled graced Leas face, a giggle erupting from Silvia. “What on earth are you smiling so hard for?” Silvia asked, slowly making her way towards Lea.
“..I have something to tell you.” Lea answered, still smiling although her nerves were eating her alive.
“Oooh. Are you about to profess your undying love for me?” Silvia joked, putting her hands together a swooning to the left, now wrapping her arms around Lea and chuckling.
“...Yes, I am.” She paused, the silence after her sentence thickening in the room, the shock on Silvias face making her want to laugh and cry at the same time.
“What-?” Silvia paused at a loss of words.
