spring・awakening This diptych was inspired by one of my nature walks last spring, picking wild garlic and thinking how it resembled luscious figures which are about to spring out of their fresh bulbs! An ode and respect to nature! They are the last prints I made in 2019. I'm saying goodbye to them this week as they make their way to their new home. They were showing at my last exhibition and a dear friend commented that they look "very Japanese, but with a Cypriot behind". Here's to keep discovering the little moments that inspire new creative work and to good people surrounding you! Happy New year and new decade everyone! Cleaning and setting up our new press in the studio today! GRID19: Design Matters Last weekend marked the first Design Conference of @cagdi.org.cy and I am honoured they trusted me to illustrate the poster for their communication. I worked with @siranixsavvas for the graphic design who I also thank for the smooth collaboration 👐 A few people asked how I made the artwork, so here are a few more close up shots and a photo of the original Monotype print I created at my studio which was scanned for the poster design digital intentions. I was starting to think this day would never come, but it seems all is possible with the help of good friends! 6 beautiful lithography stones (and some bonus goodies 😍) have safely made it to our studio this morning all the way from Sweeden! Full printmaking days at #impact10 conference in Spain come to an end! Enjoyed looking at precious prints in the special curated exhibitions like the Goya y Solana, Sorolla paintings @centrobotin, lighthouse exhibitions with spectacular landscape views and fun trips to see paleolithic cave paintings in Altamira! Loads of informative panels, good print talk over pinchos at local eateries and dips in the golden beaches of Sardiniero! Was great catching up with print buddies from all over and meeting new colleagues!
