Last week was one of those weeks where I got dangerously overwhelmed with London. I was talking about moving out on Wednesday and crying on my bike on Saturday.

It only took a wonder around Crystal Palace on Tuesday this week to fall in love with the city once again, a cycle that’s been going on for 9 years now.

The Jubilee Stand of the athletics stadium at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, a mass of concrete erected in 1977. Sign peeling off, concrete crying, a classic sad and beautiful brutalist beast.

Walked past a Modernist block of flats in Sydenham on the way to the station, in the style of Austin Vernon’s classic estates. This definitely goes on my vision board.

Another flats moment in the Kirkdale Corner block.

What am I taking out of this? If you are overwhelmed and sad and depressed, dress up, go out, look around, and you might be lucky enough to bump into a crazy dog in a park who will put a smile on your face.
