Kagome’s eyes widened when he informed her of that, gently bringing her hand up to her chest as if she could feel the heart herself. She did feel….different. Although she couldn’t quite pet her finger on it.
“Y…you split your heart in half…for me?” she murmured, as if the thought of his actions surprised her. Although, she couldn’t be surprised. She would do the same for him in a heart beat.
As if realizing the implications of what he did, she suddenly gasped and took hold of one of his hands, “Are you alright?”
“Hmph, m'fine. Nothing I couldn’t handle.” A pink hue appeared on his cheeks when she took his hand, yet despite his cockiness his own exhaustion was evident through their bond. “Was nothing to the pain I felt when I thought I’d lost you,” he admitted, his ears falling flat on his head as he traced small patterns on her hand.
He could face the strongest demons without fear. He wasn’t even really afraid of dying himself. But losing Kagome? He knew it was bound to happen someday, as was the fate of all humans, but not until she was much older. Not now. He hadn’t given up, and she was safe once more.
Kagome watched him with an ache in her chest, she could feel just how much it had affected him. She gave his hand a gentle squeeze, reassuring him that all was alright now.
She scooted over to the half demon and wrapped her arms around him, “What does this mean for us then? I mean, will we be alright with only half a heart?” she asked.
He visibly relaxed feeling her arms around him, his head falling to rest against her shoulder. His own arms wrapped around her waist as he took in her scent, that helping to further relax the half-demon. “I think so. I was told it wouldn’t be any different than when we each had a whole one. As long as we’d both wake up, we’d be fine.” He nuzzled into her a bit then, being careful of her wounds. “So don’t worry about It, alright?”

Sora realized that a part of him was still expecting a freshly dug grave, the upturned mound of earth telling what lay beneath. But it was flat, grown over with grass and just barely cleared of the shrubs and weeds that wanted to overtake it. Clear indicator of the time that had passed. As though in a trance, Sora reached out, gingerly touching the rough surface of the weathered stone with his fingertips. At the very least, this was a beautiful place to rest.
She would have loved it.
InuYasha’s comment made him wince, finally breaking him from his silent spell. “I didn’t mean to be gone so long. I swear,” He meant it for her, but she wasn’t here, so he turned to InuYasha, eyes watering as they begged for a forgiveness he wasn’t even sure he could word. “I didn’t know the-”
Shit. That’s right: he couldn’t tell him about the talisman and other worlds. Dammit.
As he looked away again he failed to keep the hitch from his voice. “… that time would pass so fast.” He finally admitted, and even as he said it, he still couldn’t help but wonder if this was some bizarre dream. “I’m sorry I didn’t come back to you guys. But I’m glad to see you’re ok.”
Was any of this for real? … Or not?
“Aw, c’mon, it’s not like there’s anything you could have done about it.“ He was awkward as hell around women who were crying, so to see Sora’s eyes watering startled him, the hanyou looking off to the side awkwardly. “You saved both of us. It’s not your fault time sucks, for humans anyway.” His words may have been sincere, but he did still feel bitter about the whole thing. Aside from his mother Sora had been the only good thing he’d had in his life, and in such a short frame of time, he’d lost them both.
His gaze drifted back to the grave, something flickering his golden hues. It was hard to say what, but perhaps… sadness? “What have ya been up to for the last 200 years anyway?”
Getting to replies here now that I've somewhat managed to drag myself out of DRV3 hell. >W>;
tfw part of you wants a new dash icon since your current one is 7+ years old but you also like it too much to change it.
slayersheart said: // try doing a defrag and immunization, then if that doesn’t help, try and I know it’s dumb, but try shutting it down, remove the power cord, let it sit. take a shower, fix some eats. Then boot it back up and check your updates 💜
( i think the defrag helped some, thanks :'D i honestly didn't know about either of those so i had to look into it lmao. i mostly use avg to do a full scan, malware bytes to look for malware and i delete my browsing history when it gets too much because that can slow things down too. that usually takes care of things. )
Plotting Call.
Like this and I'll hop on into your IMs to plot something out~
Can you imagine the heart attack Izayoi had the first time her son turned human Like she’s just holding her baby one evening as the sun goes down and bam He is human And he starts screaming because his senses are gone and she’s just like “Thats it. This is it. I broke him. I dunno how, but I broke him.”
“Are you okay?”

Golden hues drifted to the miko. The battle had just ended, and while he hadn’t come out unscathed, he felt like the injuries he’d sustained in this fight were nothing compared to previous battles. A “keh” left his lips as he crossed his arms. “I’m fine. That was too easy. I barely got a scratch.“ He sounded confident enough - perhaps a bit too cocky - yet in that small movement there was a wince that followed.

“Please,” he all but implored, and held a hand out to signal his companion to take the lead.
Sora remained silent as he followed close behind, occasionally stealing glances at the taller, matured hanyou, yet couldn’t figure out what the hell to say. The more time passed, the more questions he had. How had this happened in the first place? The witch had told him the talisman could take him to different worlds, but she’d never warned him about time-travel. (Or… was that due to his own stunts messing with that?)
Please, to anyone that’s listening, don’t let me have traveled two hundred years in my world!
“Alright, follow me.”
True to his word, the gravesite wasn’t far off from where Sora had been resting. It had taken them about a fifteen minute walk. The gravestone itself was small, Inuyasha likely having made it himself. There were fresh flowers on top, the hanyou trying to visit as much as he could when he wasn’t off fighting Naraku. It resided by a peaceful looking river, away from from prying eyes where it would hopefully continue to stay safe. Inuyasha stood near the stone yet off to the side, eyeing Sora curiously. He didn’t seem to know what to say either. With a glance at the grave, a hint of a smile appeared on his lips, yet it seemed sad.
“She missed you, y'know. Even after you left, Mama still talked and worried about you.”
( my laptop started getting randomly slow on me, both internet and computer itself. It nearly frustrated me to the point of tears, so I saved everything to drafts to work on from my phone while I do malware checks and such. )

"O-Of course I will." Her words made his heart jump and a faint blush cross his cheeks. How was she still able to make him so easily flustered? He shifted closer to his mate, an arm wrapping around her waist gently. "I ain't goin' anywhere."
