A compilation of stuff I know about drawing Asian faces and Asian culture! I feel like many “How-To-Draw” tutorials often default to European faces and are not really helpful when drawing people of other races. So I thought I’d put this together in case anyone is interested! Feel free to share this guide and shoot me questions if you have any! I’m by no means an expert, I just know a few things from drawing experience and from my own cultural background.

This narrative that Inuyasha and Kagome are too stupid and disconnected from each other to fully know and embrace that the other loves them and they want a future together despite the complications in the canon timeline really tires me out. It's all rooted in the very western perspective that you have to say "I love you" to mean it and have a "valid" relationship. They were dating practically the whole manga, for god's sake! Kagome didn't pull that "boyfriend" title out of nowhere! Inuyasha offered it to her!

(This is from chapter 72, vol 8, right after Kagome came back during the wolf monster fight and Naraku's first reveal. Yes, they've been dating since then.) I've said it before but by Japanese standards of communication, this scene is VERY explicitly him asking for them to be "together" together, which is why he mentions moving past Kikyou even if he won't forget her. And by the same logic, this...

(From chapter 494, vol 50, y'all know the scene) ... is a very clear marriage proposal. He's saying if she wants him forever, he'll protect her forever, too. He's pledging himself to her for longer than just the Naraku journey. I know it's not a very "western" way to propose but I've still been surprised how many people can't read between the lines of either scene. So like... this is my plea to let them love each other, in conversations, fics, whathaveyou. Because they really really do, and both have always been on board for it.
