Guess who is done with replies but gave up on the theme? Me! So, now that I’m free for the night -- give us a look! We’ve been open for about a week now and we still have a couple of spots to fill before the group is complete.

FULL NAME: Esther “Essy” Elaine O’Hara. AGE: Seventeen. DATE OF BIRTH: February 13th, 1995. SEX: Female. GENDER IDENTITY: Cisgender. PRONOUNS: She/her.

AESTHETIC – Untamed locks, tinted chapstick, freckles over flushed skin, ivory lace, worn out sneakers, hand-me-down cardigans, shy glances, thin gold rings, a riddle wrapped up in an enigma, fleeting smiles, books that are falling apart at the seam, a night sky full of stars, the smell of lavender, freshly picked baby’s breath, the color white, skirts, gingham print.

LIKES: Chemistry. Fairy lights. Orchestra music from video games. Studio Ghilbi films. Black coffee. Her two year old Siberian husky, Midna. Her grandparents. Late-night drives. Long distance running. The smell of new books. Humming.

Whether it’s the fact that she enrolled into Eureka high school late into the school year or she is simply a girl of few words, Esther Elaine O’Hara is a strange concept very few people are able to understand.

Essy was born in a small suburban neighbourhood in Montreal, Canada. She lead a relatively quiet yet pleasant little life with a pair of loving parents who happened to raise her to the very best of their abilities.

When Essy turned sixteen, her dearest mother randomly fell ill only to later find out she was dying from brain cancer. A few months after the discovery, not too long into her treatments, Essy’s mother unfortunately succumbed to the illness, leaving her and her father behind with the heaviest of hearts.

Essy dealt with the death in quiet disbelief, shut herself down, more so as she couldn’t process the actuality of her loss, but her father had a different way of coping. He immediately spiralled out of control by falling straight into the comforting arms of mind-numbing alcoholism. He stuck around for a few months only to finally disappear from his daughter’s life when everything became too much for him. He simply couldn’t bare to look at Esther any longer when she reminded him so much of his deceased wife.

Essy was immediately shipped off to live with her grandparents in Eureka, California when she was seventeen, at the very beginning of her junior year of high school. Everything was still fresh in her heart, but slowly, time is beginning to shift the weight of her unexpected loss.

AESTHETIC – The smell of dry-erase markers, paper-cuts, smudged ink on left hand, messily made bed, coffee stained papers, glasses lens that are always dirty, bad jokes with good intentions, classical music playing in the background, calculated chess strategies, crumpled up paper.

LIKES: Smooth flowing ink, math puns, chess, problems that are black and white, new stationary, kittens, puppies, conspiracy theories.

DISLIKES: Overthinking, mice, the entire concept of time, disloyal people, bright lights, uncertainty.

HEAD CANONS

– As a child, Reid moved around a lot, and learned not to grow attached to a single place or person too quickly. Several times as a teenager, he made the mistake of falling in love with the scenery or someone in his class. Anytime that Reid would find himself in such a position, within two weeks, he’d be whisked away to another state. By the time that he was a junior in high school, he’d given up on making any permanent connections with anyone outside his family. He always had a close connection to his parents because of the lack of permanence of anything else in his life. However, he was closest to his mother. – The same time that he gave up on forming connections was when his mom and he received word that his dad had died overseas. The two had their last move and settled in Sacramento, California. – Reid was interested in math because of its permanence as opposed to everything else in his life. Whereas his surroundings were moving and grey, math was static and black and white. The subject came easily to him, and was even calming to him in certain situations. – He wants to go back to university to get his PhD in mathematics, but at the same time he doesn’t want to leave his students to pursue the degree.  – That one teacher that is really chill, though he can get frustrated easily. Pretty lax with deadlines, and gives students extra credit if they need it. Definitely believes in aliens and will have a passionate discussion about them. Prefers students to call him by his first name. Runs the Chess Club.

– His parents argued a lot when he was growing up so when he got old enough he found solace in photography and art. He enjoys getting good grades, which makes him be seen as a teacher’s pet to some and he hates it. – He has had an obsession with eating strawberries and tomatoes since he was young and needs one or the other with every meal.

CABIN UPDATE #1 — SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS.

Through drawing straws and flipping coins, those who made it to the house have made arrangements for who will sleep where for the duration of their stay in the shelter the cabin provides. Trades are allowed within rooms at student discretion, but changes within rooms are strongly discouraged. 

LIVING ROOM:

Cot: Jax. Floor by Fireplace: Brooke, Andrew, Bee, Daphne, Reid, Essy and Memphis. Pull-out Couch: Morgan, Rowan and Cindy.

ROOM ONE:

Twin Bed: Nero. Twin Bed: Riley. Sleeping Bag: Waverly.

ROOM TWO:

Queen Bed: Nate and Ben. Sleeping Bag: Alina.

ROOM THREE:

Queen Bed: Chloe and Ellie. Sleeping Bag: Ethan.

ROOM FOUR:

With no return from the other group, those who stayed nearby the forest’s edge looking for resources ventured in deeper, hoping to find something -- or someone -- that might be of use to them. Instead of somewhere in civilization, they find an abandoned summer home, with minimal supplies inside. 

Three packs of fireworks, unopened

Four flashlights, one hand powered and three battery powered

Five packs of batteries (10 per pack) 

Five beds, two cots, and a pullout couch. Two of the beds are twin beds and can fit one person. The other three are queen beds, and can fit two.

Cans/bags of food that are not opened or expired, such as beans, rice, powdered milk, and honey. 

Several semi-perishable items: supplies for s’mores, protein bars, dried fruit, and dried jerky.

Perishable food was present in the freezer and fridge -- due to lack of electricity, all of it is spoiled. 

Three crates of bottled water (50 per crate) 

Fishing supplies, sans live bait. Whereabouts of a lake is unknown. 

One toolkit

Two first aid kits, two bottles of bug spray (one full, one half empty)

Clothing of various sizes and styles

The distribution and supplies is up to the students and chaperones. Some are determined to ration them and use them wisely, some are excited at their presence and want to use them while they have them. Decisions are up for debate.
