i think the best thing 'bout Tumblr is i can drop off the planet for two years and come back to y'all still fucking 'round like it's still '07—but then again, it's always '07 here 🤪
so, et voila, BEE is back to fuck around!
for those who liked my old intro post, i'm sure y'all can find it 'round here somewhere if you get bored enough. new comeback, new intro ✌️and tbh that peppy energy screams early 20 something who can still pretend 18 energy
it's 2025 and i'm too tired to deny everything hurts and creaks now 🧓🩼
so, let's start the program:
bio shit
they/them
i like tea but i'll go back to loving it as soon as i get my own flat
mid-20s, POC based in London
obsessed with podcasts
i can't make decisions so wheelofnames is my bfffff
in love with musicals
a goldfish can beat my short attention span
writing crap
✅spec, fantasy, magic realism, comedy, romance, modern, drama
easy pickings for me. my work defaults to these
❓historical, sci-fi, punk, crime, horror
i'm very interested in dipping into these but it takes me a hella lot of effort. i never liked research and these require a lot.
❌gore for gore's sake, non-fiction, literary
no. definitely not.
on: trigger warnings
i grant permission for you fuckers to cancel the shit out of me if i forget to put warnings on any of my works
recently, i've got into a spat with the CW department of my uni about making trigger warnings as an SOP. a short film assigned to one module almost had me go into a mental breakdown.
of course, they just sent out a departmental email containing links to bullshit research denouncing the need/effectivity of trigger warnings.
so, fuck those guys.
BEE will always add trigger warnings.

The really bewildering thing to me is that I remember when you needed to get up and pull a dictionary off the shelf, or visit a library to look up the facts you needed. Now people have all kinds of information literally at their fingertips and they can’t be bothered to use it.
Also, I love that, in the sign language one, it seems like the last image might’ve been a gif of “fuck you,” screenshot at the perfect time to let you know they were about to sign “fuck you”
I still remember the guy who got mad at me because I spoke about the cultural role of the Norse gods in my life and my culture and insisted that I should be “proud of my Christian heritage instead” and quite simply would not believe me when I told him I was from Scandinavia because “that doesn’t exist anymore.”
using violence to liberate people from sweatshops, unsafe mines, and grinding poverty isn't the same as using violence to impose those things on people. the idea that violence is morally repugnant regardless of context is a belief that every oppressor throughout history would love for the oppressed to hold
Not to sound like a decrepit, rambling corpse about it, but back in my day Word used to be a pre installed program that came with your computer, if you were running Windows.
No subscription. Just program.
On your computer. You got to use it forever and ever and never had to worry about it going away.
Because it was physically on your computer. As a program. That you actually owned. Not because you got it separately, but because it was a standard inclusion with your computer.
I'm sorry but I'll just never get over it. I remember when companies cared about their products being usable out of the box. I remember when our things belonged to us.
Old man shaking fist at cloud, wherein the cloud is the background of the Windows 98 logo.
#excuse me but are you telling me that the Apollo pic is made with the help of the SUN and the Artemis one with the help of the MOON??? #that's actually so poetic i want to cry
@gorandomshesaid wait i need to sit with this one. wait.
Highly unlikely to be of use but I want a card I can carry in my wallet that says “If I Die First In A Traumatic Survival Scenario I Want You To Know I’m Okay With You Cannibalizing Me, It’s Fine, Don’t Be Weird And Guilty About it”. And then on the back there could be like. A list of recipes n shit
I feel like I'm the last person alive writing in Word, but wanted to share this because it might save someone some heartache.
I am used to Word autosaving relentlessly; for the last few years it didn't really even have a "File>Save" command that I could see--it just autosaved like every five seconds or something. It took me a long time to get used not clicking File>Save at the end of every writing session, and I never really trusted it--with good reason, it turns out.
Apparently, when you turn off Word's new ai features, AutoSave is disabled and cannot be turned back on. There is toggle button in the upper left for it, but when I try to toggle it on, it says "Autosave is not available because of your privacy settings." I worked in my document yesterday, put my computer to sleep with the doc still open on the taskbar (my usual habit), and when I opened it today, the new work I did yesterday was gone.
This time I only lost about 300 words, which I had typed into my document from my longhand-writing in a notebook (so I guess I kind of autosaved them that way!), but if I'd really been on a roll, this could have been a disaster.
Yeah, they're baking it into essential compontents now so we'll stop turning it off. Noticed that in several programs. FFS I hate all of these tech bros.
So within two days of each other, Fox News writes an article comparing aromanticism and asexuality to pedophilia, and then Matt Walsh releases a video saying asexuality is a mental illness and asexuals are tricking teenagers into having depression.
Not sure what’s going on right now over in Conservative World, but it’s a hell of wild U-turn for them to suddenly switch from “Oh no! The left is sexualizing our children!” to “Oh no! The left is asexualizing our children!”
It’s a reminder, I guess, that they’re coming for all of us. The fash and the white supremacists will not make nice distinctions between the queers when they put us up against the wall. There is no gatekeeping, no label-policing, no purity-purging and no assimilation that any of us can do that will save us. They want us dead, and while they’ll start with whoever is most vulnerable at any given time, they’ll get around to all of us eventually.
Queer solidarity means all of us because the fash are coming for all of us.
ANYONE who is trying to divide our community is a fucking Fed. That includes other queers who like to argue about who is and isn’t “allowed” in our community.
