i grant permission for you fuckers to cancel the shit out of me if i forget to put warnings on any of my works
recently, i've got into a spat with the CW department of my uni about making trigger warnings as an SOP. a short film assigned to one module almost had me go into a mental breakdown.
of course, they just sent out a departmental email containing links to bullshit research denouncing the need/effectivity of trigger warnings.
so, fuck those guys.

there's a fascinating type of post on this site which boils down to "what if, instead of being cliché, such-and-such work of fiction instead dodged all genre tropes in a way that instead made it really boring"
"imagine an indiana jones or lara croft type who repatriates artifacts instead of taking them abroad" - kind of hamhanded and potentially white savior-y, but it is at least An Idea that meaningfully engages with the genre
"what if indiana jones was like a real archeologist and spent all his time filling out grant applications and carefully dusting off pottery sherds" - yeah I dunno man. what if he was like that. you could maybe get a five-minute SNL sketch out of it. good luck making it an interesting movie or video game though lol
I think a lot about that one post where it's like "why would a monster that subsists on fear / suffering inflict it when it could instead eat people's existing anguish, thus making them feel better"
and it's like. idk maybe because that isn't fucking scary or angsty or a particularly good allegory. and the monster is a Character or Plot Device, not a real fucking guy.

conversations of amatonormativity and consent overlap a lot and should be discussed side by side more frequently. because when you live in a society that teaches you that you’re supposed to want sex and romance, that you may want to say no in the moment but you shouldn’t say no forever, any statements about consent get muddied. you cannot at once preach that consent is vital and “you can always say no” and also insist that people should give sex and romance a try, even when they express disinterest, telling them “eventually you’ll find the right person.”

Q. Girls and boys are raised in specific ways for specific purposes, so it does not make sense to raise boys as girls.
If you raise every boy as a girl, then there is no being which is not raised as a girl, so anyone raised as a girl necessarily must learn to do anything and everything to grow up, without restrictions on tasks, labours, or interests.

All two girls are different, and raising girls in one specific way destroys this individuality in favour of moulding girls to serve the same master. Because if a girl does not exist among boys, then the girl is made.

The self must be made in a world where girls and boys can first and foremost be themselves. One step towards this goal is to raise every boy as a girl.
