âJesus Christ, you a mind reader? I was perfectly fine- I swear,â Toulouse lied through a clenched jaw, trying to keep his disappearing cool, as the contents of his once delicious milk went away from him, âI swear- this is a sign. So many people have been telling me dairy free is the way to go. I didnât believe them, why would anyone want to drink almonds? Thatâs ridiculous. The one time I even dare to try it this happens. Nah, no way. Iâm sticking with the original source.â
Grabbing the napkins, Toulouse began to pat away at his soaked clothing, fumbling ever so slightly. âSo tell me, anything else you can predict for me?â
Violet flinched, taking a step back from the guy. She hadnât really thought offering help would backfire. But then, she hadnât thought much. If she had been more helpful she wouldâve said something sooner, a bit louder...but she hadnât had the courage to do it. Though honestly? He was making her really regret having tried at all. âWell...youâre gonna give up after one bad attempt? Not very open minded,â she mumbled, though she went ahead and scooted back even further.Â
The guy clearly already had the ability to snap at people. Violet really didnât want to deal with that.âIf youâre going to be an...an asshole, then I predict people wonât want to spend any time with you,â Violet snapped back, though she knew her voice was still a little too soft to give her words the proper bite. âI was just trying to help.â
