Great video explaining how different improvements throughout the years only affect the student if the student uses what is offered to them. The surrounding don't have as much effect as much as what goes on inside the student's mind.

Teaching should be enhanced by technology. I am all for using technology in a classroom, but am against having technology run and be the basis of technology. Students should have access to technology in school WITH teaching, NOT IN PLACE of teaching. Technology has so many student benefits if it is used correctly and in reason.

This is a great visual to get ideas of how to incorporate technology and apps to our everyday lessons to benefit our students. Going off of Bloom's Taxonomy, the chart shows different things we can use depending on the level we are focusing on.

From the years we started school, until now, teacher/home communication techniques have changed tremendously. I remember having a journal notebook that went back and forth where my parents and my teachers can keep each other up to date with what was going on. If I had any questions or concerns I would write in a specific section of the book so my teacher could read and respond to me. With all the focus being out on technology today, simple responses are out in long emails and messages. Who knows when we will be texting our answers to the teacher?

With the changing times, technology plays a major role in the younger generations' lives. From a young age, children are able to work a tablet or laptop better than an adult. An educator can use this to their advantage by using technology and applications in the classroom. This allows the teacher to engage the students into the lesson to make the school day more enjoyable. This article introduces 5 new programs that capture the student's attention in the classroom, while allowing the teachers to teach and assess different lessons. Kahoot is a new program that allows teachers to create quizzes that they can send out to their students. The quizzes may be timed, accompanied by pictures, explained by videos and can be accessed by any device that supports a web browser. Socrative is an app that works well for independent work, as well as collaborative group work. Assessment in the app becomes a fun competition with polls and tracks. Infuse learning allows teachers to cater to every learning style of the students. Quiz socket is an assessment app that allows the teacher to make sure that every student spends time on a question to think about it before they pick an answer and move on to the next question. It is great to use for a group or class quiz since the assessment can be timed and controlled by the teacher. Finally, Verso is a new program that allows the teachers to create a virtual classroom. All the new response systems create an online environment that allows students to comfortably interact with each other and their teachers.

Moorseville grade school in North Carolina has created an education system that incorporates just the right amount of technology into the student's daily routines. "The whole space was a learning environment, and the technology was just part of the infrastructure." Describing technology the way the teachers and school did shows how technology is a great tool in a school system when there is a balance of different techniques. When the students are engaged in the lesson, the teacher has created an environment that is comforting and interesting. Using the National Education Technology Plan, the school is able to personalize each lesson to the child, while teaching the curriculum appropriately to each grade level. The teachers understand that online learning takes away participation and interactions, but they also understand that those skills are incorporated and emphasized during different periods of the day. Despite the fact that technology is used throughout the day, the school must make sure that the students have access to at least a library computer to complete their online profile. Each technology is different, but as long as they have the same or similar capabilities. An important aspect of the new and improved learning and teaching system is collaboration.
