Last week I watched the readership of a webcomic I follow read a page that depicts a character being injured, complete with a close-up panel of the blow and demonstrative sound effects, then proceed to spend the next several days clogging the comments with vigorous debate regarding whether the character in question had actually been injured by the blow, or whether the visible mark on their body in the exact spot that was struck in the following pages was merely the product of the artist being bad at drawing body hair.
