+ honorable mention:
INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE 3.01: Detroit TVLTwT/IWTVTwT Version.
The Vampire Lestat is now streaming on AMC+ and airs tonight at 9 PM on AMC. If you have the chance, please support the show by tuning in on the official platforms. Every view counts!
when i say interview with a vampire has truly healed something in me. i think a lot of us remember how closely our younger selves latched onto the blatant queerbaiting in popular media of the time and found solace in online communities who made the queer love stories we deserved with these characters where showrunners were too afraid. back then, that was all we had.
iwtv has given us a show that centers queer POC characters and relationships— ones that aren’t poorly disguised reprints of harmful tropes we’re tired of seeing. ones that are unafraid to be complex and messy and real. ones where the care and respect the writers have for the characters, story, and source material are evident in everything they do. this is not to say this show is perfect or the first of its kind to offer this, but i think for a lot of us fans it’s one of the first times we get to experience the magic unfold in real time, at such a scale of production quality and popular support.
it warms my heart to watch this show, its characters, its relationships, and its fan community get the love and praise it deserves from everyone involved in the production and from watchers alike. the world has a long way to go, but it’s given me the kind of happiness and hope that’s hard to come by in today’s media.

I love him so much what is his problem 😭😭😭
Something so funny about Armand genuinely being a weird guy. Like vampirism and immortality and traumatic past aside he is genuinely so odd. Hilarious. Even to other vampires he is super weird. Why is he like that.
jam reiderson is real because they found each other and became lifelong friends and true soulmates, zamasian is real because they have no reason to be doing any of that at all
That was the last sunrise I ever saw. Perhaps the kindest thing the dark gift has given me. // It was the last time I saw my brother. It was the last time I saw the sun. It was the only time I ever felt free.
