Oh HOW KIND! She’s gotten rather better at walking, but her stamina on foot is still poor. She can’t walk for long and will end up feeling like she needs to crawl. She can’t help but smile back and sit right next to the younger one. Placing both hands on her lap, she stares at the trees and the sky. It has been getting colder. Probably another reason why her body’s been acting rather strange. Cold weathers and her just never did get along (Although she loves the snow and how the leaves changes colors, too.) “Are you….staying warm?” She looks at him with a tilt of her head. “Don’t catch cold.”
He could not help but smile at that stranger’s concern. It was natural, he assumed. People worried about him all the time. But how much of that worry was because he was frail and sickly looking, and how much was simply because he was the Fon Master? Concern from strangers who didn’t know who he was felt nicer. It was genuine.
“There’s no need to worry about me. My robes are designed for all types of weather.” He took a look at her for a moment. she didn’t see to be dressed very warmly either. “I worry a bit, though, for people who came here without proper winter clothes. I am sure many people come from places where warm clothes would not be needed.”

Ion stared at Saphir, and Saphir stared back at Ion. All sorts of old faces had been showing up lately, although this one was more memorable than most. He had questions, of course – Luke arriving here had been surprising enough, but what he’d heard of Ion’s fate had made it sound a few degrees more permanent. And although this was a question for the scientists who controlled the city and not Ion, Saphir still seemed put out with him for it.
So when Ion at last approached, Saphir was already a quarter of the way worked up.
“Then who were you expecting to see? I hope not one of the other God-Generals.” Although if Ion could be here, so could they, but that thought was promptly banished.
“And I’ll have you know I no longer even use that old moniker, for one thing.”
Saphir brought a hand to his forehead in an attempt to play off the tension he was feeling.
“So what is it that you need the one and only Saphir for? Out with it.”
Oh, well, that was a change he did not, could not have excepted. Dist was always rather insistent on his title. But then again, how could the Fon Master have known how things had changed since his death. Maybe Di-Saphir went on a life altering experience. Maybe he left the God-Generals and decided to do something good with his life. It sounded next to impossible, but then again, this world was full of miracles, right?
“If I’m to be honest, I was not expecting to see anyone I know here.” Saphir in particular was not someone he expected. He never expected Saphir. Every time he showed up was a completely predictable, yet somehow shocking surprise. He really needed to become more cautious.
Ion gave him an apologetic look. He didn’t know what he’d done to make Saphir upset with him, but it was bet to apologize in advanced. “My apologies, ah, Saphir. I didn’t realize you’d stopped using it. I guess I must be behind the times.”
You know, with being dead and all.
“Ah, here wasn’t anything in particular, I was just happy to see a familiar face. I am sorry for interrupting your day.”
She didn’t seem the most steady on her feet, which was fine because neither was Ion. Of course, for Ion that could come from pushing himself. He wanted to get to know every bit of this city and that meant exploring. Unfortunately, without his friends to notice his limits, he had a tendency to push himself too far. Right now, he was trying to push down a wave of dizziness by sitting and taking a break. Maybe that girl could use a break too.
“Would you care to sit down with me, miss?” He smiled at her, his expression as friendly as could be. “It’s a pretty chilly day out, and moving around does help you warm up, but it also makes you tired more easily.”
@mcircnyu
They seemed about the same age, but there was something very different between the two. Io could not place it. Maybe the other boy was flighty, maybe nervous. This city had seemed nice and peaceful so far, as he’d been here for under a week, so it seemed odd to be so nervous here. Then again, the Fon Master had seen very little of what this city was like. Maybe it was no so nice at all.
“Ah, hello there.” He should probably leave the boy alone, but Ion was not good at leaving anything alone. He was stubbornly nosy when he wanted to be. It was easy enough to find something to talk to anyone. There were a thousand excuses in the world, after all. “By any chance do you know where the nearest grocery store is?”

my new tablet came in!!! so here’s my favorite abyss trio playing pokemon go ‘cause why not
It’s kind of hard to be scared when you work with these people everyday and they kidnap you every other week.

[Comic Masterpost]
Now that I’ve finished with the intro post, it’s time to get my son introduced to the best part of this city, the people. So, if you want to meet Ion, please like this post. I’m gonna put a cap of three on it, but Tales of the Abyss cast mates exempt, and don’t count toward that cap. Even outside the cap, you can always contact me and we can plot something.
Fon Master Ion | Tales of the Abyss
Is a very good boy
Keeps getting into trouble trying to help people
The supreme leader of the Order of Lorelei at the apparent age of 14
Is a really dangerous Fonist. By dangerous, I mean mostly to himself
Gets kidnapped a lot, he’s used to it at this point
He probably should be considering her a lost child, but that was the first thing that Ion thought of. Children should not be on the streets without someone to look after them. This was what Ion thought. They should be with their parents or siblings. Or, if they were like him, with their protectors. She was definitely a few years his junior. Well, at least physically. Still, he could not help but worry.
“Hello, young miss?” He smiled at her, a friendly enough gesture. “Are you lost? Or maybe you are looking for something?”
If he was the be honest, he was probably the lost child here. Ion definitely hadn’t been here long enough to avoid getting lost. ...He actually still got lost in his hometown sometimes.

Per request, 58 manga Natalia icons for @belovedprincess
Was that Natalia? No, that was not the important question. Ion didn’t even have time to get over the joy of seeing one of his dearest friends. Not when Natalia was carrying food. And he was pretty sure he saw meat in that bag. She could do terrible things with meat. He could not trust her with ready made food. Just because she was a friend didn’t mean that Ion was unaware of what a danger he was.
“Ah, Natalia, are you planning to cook something?”
For such a frail guy, he made his way down the block to her surprisingly quickly. He was only a little bit out of a breathe. He placed a hand on his knee and tried not to fall over. Was it fear or exhaustion that got his heart racing? Both. It was definitely both.
“Did you want help? I could definitely help with that. I haven’t seen you in a while-” Since he died. “-and it would be fun.”
@belovedprincess
Part of him would always feel guilty. The Six God Generals were his subordinates once. Whenever the Order of Lorelei did something cruel, it was because of his failures as a Fon Master. In truth, that feeling could be overwhelm. As such, even though it should be nice to see someone familiar, he could not feel anything but distaste for Dist. It was different than with the other generals though. It was like looking at a bug.
Like looking at a cockroach. Not that Ion had any real contempt. Just slight disgust.
The boy watched the Dist. Even in this city, it was impossible to confused him with another person. His look was completely impossible to imitate. Of course, most people probably wouldn’t want to. It wasn’t strange to see him. He was kind of used to it with the way Dist always showed up, trying to one up Jade. What was strange, though, was seeing Dist on the ground. Walking. Not in his chair. It was jarring.
“...”
Was he staring? Probably. It was hard not to. He held his staff a little closer and inspected Dist carefully. He’d seen him walk before, in truth, through the halls at work, but this was a completely different time. It was before everything happened. Still, seeing Dist was strange.
“Dist the Rose,” he called. He’d use that title to avoid Dist’s backlash while he was by himself. “I was not expecting to see you here.”
One could almost hear the ‘without your chair’.
@doctorgneiss
Of all his friends, or the people he considered friends who might not return the thought, he had known Jade the second longest. He’d only known Anise longer. Anise was his guard, the one he’d chosen in specific, but Jade was someone who had come to him for help. For the assistance of a Fon Master. It had made him quite happy. A wave of happy nostalgia washed for him as he saw long brown hair and a blue outfit. A nice friendly reminder in these unfamiliar streets. It was almost like Jade was here. His smiled to himself at he continued on-
Actually, wait, he was pretty sure was Jade.
“Ah, Jade?” He used his arm to shadow out the sun and get a better view of the man. It was difficult to mistake anyone for Jade. Yep, that was definitely the colonel.
