i spent a while drawing these. i didn't really have much motivation to draw anything else honestly, but hey, these came out nice and i had fun.

Thank you for your questions! Bare with me while I set up the answer.
My usual, non-fetish headcanon when it comes to the creation of p.ip.is is that it's a form of magical byproduct that seemingly only Sp.amt.on and his parent produce. If there's some magic they're casting that isn't coming out right, or if they've overexerted themselves in some way, or if they're just casting something basic thoughtlessly, they just... make clams, I guess?!
Their magical capacity increases (and how A.dd.is.on magic is made more powerful/potent in general) from the interactions and occupation of thought/feeling they invoke from others, particularly L.ightn.ers. Which is a fancy way of saying that an A.dd.is.on gets stronger from the amount of impressions/views they get. And they just produce magic naturally.
The fetish version of it (that I usually just place in DFN because I'm weird) is that Sp.amt.on's code is a tad bugged. Every month or so his body tries to take in whatever impressions he's gotten and "attempts to run an operation" that basically does nothing. Since before he had his benefactor he'd never really get impressions, he'd just feel a bit weird and go about his day.
Sometimes a L.ightn.er or two would see his emails and he'd be given enough energy to produce the magic to run said operation. Which does nothing. But because it's a process that does nothing, it produces a p.ip.is, because his code inherited that weird thing his parent also does and interacts with it in a novel way.
It was unobtrusive enough. Every once in awhile he lays an egg or two chicken-style and goes about his day. He was vaguely aware of the how and the why, but it didn't sink in how it could affect him in earnest.
When he got that call and started seeing success, it wasn't a concern of his for a small amount time as most of the success was in the D.ark W.orld. But it crossed over to both worlds eventually, and then,
He typically wouldn't go too far over the size of "very heavily pregnant" early H.ot Sh.ot years, but the average size he'd hit would reliably jump up with time. He'd also have to make sure to lay them as soon as his body would allow him to, otherwise he could risk getting trapped somewhere/being immobilized (something something "p.ip.is self-replicate". I also like this headcanon).
Also, logically, it'd result in having a lot of p.ip.is over the years, I don't know what to do about that fact yet outside of "he eats them". He can't possibly eat them all . ..........
I imagine most Cyber Citizens can download/reload versions of their physical forms to an extent; Sp.amt.on would start utilizing this once his impromptu pregnancies started getting "out of hand" in his eyes.
Collaborating with TV T.im.e basically wrecks his figure over and over, what with the publicity it brings him and how his body responds to that. By the time the two collided he'd not-uncommonly make enough p.ip.is during that time of month that it'd just engulf him.
So, by the time this happens, the size he's at by the end is way smaller than what he's gotten used to. Admittedly, it's about average size for him when he first achieved his fame, too.
...this headcanon, funnily enough, also explains why I haven't drawn/posted any puppet DFN!Sp.amt.on here (yet). We headcanoned that after the benefactor disappears, people forgot who Sp.amt.on is. So it's almost circumstantially impossible for him to get rapidly pregnant at all anymore -- at least, via that bug of his. I'm sure there's other ways,

Aaaas big as I want him to get. There's a few older drawings I have of him getting really big, back when I first came up with the headcanon. I think they were pre-syscovery which is hilariously vintage
hehehee I really like the idea of Sp@mton fattening up a skinny T3nna to get everything back the way it was. I'm wondering how much he needs to stuff his tummy so that it's enough for him to stop for a while? Of course, he understands that everything won't work out in one go, but I really like the idea that he might overdo it too much hehehhee :D
