thinking about how Team 7 was formed and there are like surface level reasons why it makes sense (kakashi being the only one who can help with sasuke’s sharigan, naruto being minato’s kid/slight chance kakashi can control kyuubi with his sharingan, etc.) but one must also remember: the team was formed by hiruzen and his fuckass council. Who like definitely thought if things went wrong, they could get kakashi to kill them and make it look like a mission gone bad. It’s not like either of the boys has anyone waiting for them at home. And if he had to kill the girl too, well she was from a low level, non-clan family, so no one would really question it if she didn’t make it back.
