2025 trends in fashion and beauty
**this is everything i have as on Feb '25. Im a little behind the times because the US is experiencing a lot of bad stuff. Its kind of hard to think about fashion and culture in the face of fascism. That being said, while a lot of these trends lean towards "old money" "classy and elegant" aesthetics i would actually challenge readers to embrace dopamine dressing, curated personal style, and authentic representation of who they are!
Hair, beauty and makeup
• FUll glam bombshell makeup and hair. Minimalism is dead. Eyeshadow is back
• KBeauty. Everywhere.
• The pantone color of the year is mocha mousse (a soft pink-toned brown)
• Thin brows like 90s style/ bleached brows
• Edgy styles. Very 90s.
• Holographic eyeshadow. Very 80s. Very Chappel Roan. When we said clean girl is DEAD we meant it.
• Side parts are back. Idk when they ever left... Apparently it was cheugy (whatever tf that means 🙄)
• old hollywood hairstyles. big and over the top. volume! Bombshell blowouts!
• Victoria Secret did slicked back ponytails but ppl didnt like it
• "Birkin" bangs. Kind of mousy imo but i guess thats the look. Looks better on brunettes
• "Old money" blonde dye job.
• Dirty blonde "bronde" trend color
• Warm red toned browns for color
• Everyone said the perfume trending scents were going to be matcha, sesame, and rice/rice milk
• Some people say "fresh and solar notes" (i.e. being outside in the fresh air) are in for the coming year. Also photorealistic food notes like Fig notes, tea notes, and aromatics like basil
• Layering scents! Custom style!
• Milky toners. Toner-serum combo
• "Latina" makeup
Manipedis
• Tiffany blue polish, teal
• Deep Ocean/Royal blue
• Vibrant Green colors (mint, olive, pastel, grass)
• "Soap" nails, hyper-realistic nails. "Your nails but better"
• Pink, lilac
• True red and deep cherry red
• more painted nail art! (Obvi) get crazy. Dont play it safe! Do a different design on every nail
• "Sailor moon" nails. French tips with interesting designs
Fashion
Overall
• Rococo revival. Coquette. Hyper femme like bloomers and bouncy skirts.
• Fisherman/grandpa aesthetic??? Nautical, pirates, hunter boots, rainboots. I remember this from the countryside uk style they were talking about a few months ago. Very utilitarian. Sporty country style. Still old money which i think is interesting. But Relaxed. Like polo ralph lauren but casual
• Ballet pink, still balletcore but less wearable
• Supet short shorts. Idk if i would wear them but eh.
• Corsets are back. House of CB. Structure and formality. We'll see this in a lot of wedding and formal outfits.
• Maximalism. Dresses over pants. Layers Everywhere. Texture! "Isabel Marant" girl.
• Boho and western style as accents than main looks
• Big bags! Totes and slouchy leather shoulder bags are in.
• Wide leg Pants are IT. The big bouncy palazzo pants and slacks. But skinny jeans are still trying to make a comeback. Barrel jeans too? Structure and volume.
• "volume" is apparently the word of the year. Drama.
• Coordinating outfits with friends and partners. Twinning!!! "Besties don't copy. They match!" This is so cute! I love this.
• Leopard print is everything. Still trending. Might as well be a basic atp.
• Pinterest says pickle green, cherry red, and primary colors are the trend for 2025
Winter
• Scarf necklines. The scarf-coat combo style. Looks like a shawl
• Prada is doing heavy shearling!!
• The fluffy russian hats
• Deep warm brown
• Burgundy, merlot, wine, etc
• Collarless jackets, bomber jackets for ex.
• Glamorous leather gloves
• Suede!!
• Stirrup Leggings?? With pointed toe shoes
• Boucle. Its like a cross between tweed and teddy coat material.
• Other animal prints. I wanna see zebra and giraffe. Crocodile skin. Leopard is always in. Time to do something else. Cow maybe. That's trending for bags
• (Predicted last season): metallics, earth hues, dark chocolate brown, long tailored wool coats, loose wide leg trousers, tartan tweed & herringbone layers and accessories, boxy short fur coats, flattering feminine boots and heels, pashminas and balaclavas, slouchy big bags
• (Predicted) WHATS OUT: shearling moto jackets, puffers (??? Its -4° outside), super short shorts, leggings, blold florals, long sweaters (?), long pleated skirts and maxi skirts, fleece jackets and shackets (?? So we arent suppsoed to keep warm this winter ig), combat boots and chelsea boots,
• yk high key the current political climate in the West is awful. Combat fascism and hyper-conservativity by wearing vibrant over the top looks. Go bold! Stand out! Show them you arent afraid. Counterculture!!!
