I still think it’s so funny that the universal Reylo shipping experience is loving it for the potential it had, while simultaneously hating what it turned out to be in canon

The post-The Last Jedi era of Reylo fandom was something to experience. I really thought we were going to witness an epic love story that would pay off 40 years of canon with a perfectly rhyming inverse symmetry of the Prequel trilogy. And in edition, be the greatest Romeo and Juliet but with a happy ending to ever grace cinema.
