[[ A riveting tale! ]]
Okay so doing some rough guesstimates came up with the following
With about 3-5 months on a damn boat to get there (yay getting hella lost)
The Incan Empire’s capitol of Cusco is about a 6 day walk from the Coast where they got captured.
1-3 day walk from Cusco to Machu Picchu / Vault of Heaven
Let’s be generous and say the whole venture took about a month of being stuck there.
Riario breaks his damn leg so there’s another few days
Another week’s trek back to the damn coast
and let’s assume a few days of sitting there waiting for Amerigo to get his ass in order.
another 8 weeks back to Italy where everything in Florence has promptly gone to shit (using info from Vespucci’s voyage to Venezuela that took about 5 weeks)
So total time approx: 29 weeks minimum

Quick run down on the clusterfuck that is Girolamo’s family situation in Da Vinci’s Demons canon v. Historic
Da Vinci’s Demons
Girolamo Riario was born the son of a Jewish prostitute and Alessandro della Rovere (the fictional twin brother of the future Pope Sixtus IV Francesco).
Historically
Girolamo Riario was born the son of Bianca della Rovere and her husband Paolo Riario. Francesco is his maternal uncle, he’s one of 6-7 children. Some of his brothers became Cardinals or clergy. The Riario children are orphaned when Girolamo’s like 13 or something.
Da Vinci’s Demons
Girolamo was raised in a monastery until his father Alessandro got a hold of him, likely as a teenager or young adult. Alessandro plants a coup to usurp the Papacy from his twin brother, resulting in the death of Francesco della Rovere’s youngest daughter Amelia’s death. His eldest daughter, Girolamo’s cousin, Lucrezia Donati is forced to work for Alessandro, Francesco is imprisoned in the Castel Sant’Angelo in a hidden cell known only to few. Girolamo becomes Captain General at an assuming young age and is his father’s personal assassin and right hand. At an unknown age, probably before the plot against Francesco, Girolamo is told to kill a prostitute, who he figures out to be his mother during her final moments.
Historically
Girolamo Riario becomes Captain General at the age of 28, marries Caterina Sforza thanks to his brother arranging the marriage. They have a shit ton of kids. Caterina is a badass who holds the Castel Sant’Angelo after Pope Sixtus IV dies while 7 months pregnant to postpone conclave.
Da Vinci’s Demons
Literally none of that happens. Girolamo murders his father.
