Day 4,650: Soon
Liz and I made Soon Tofu together for dinner tonight, and got boba while we picked up the ingredients. It was lovely. The doc we watched wasnāt great, but it was still a perfect evening. Burned out writing today. Hit a wall. But thatās okay. It happens. Iāll make up some ground tomorrow and Sunday. Weāll get there. I have faith. Itās going well, truly. Iām enjoying what Iām writing. Day 4,649: Trash Day
Thiiiiis close to getting the Netflix project across the finish line. This. Close. I finished my overcut today, which is to say, I swapped out all our temporary footage with the final stuff. Good LORD it took a long time. Very, very precise work. Some stuff had been built in one program, other stuff in another, which made it tough because the settings donāt necessarily translate 1-to-1. Worked my booty off today. Writing got disrupted because Netflix work was so busy, but it is what it is, you know? Iām in good shape for tomorrow. End the week strong and Iāll find a way to make it up. The book is in good shape. Iām started to relax some. Getting into a rhythm. 12 pages a day isnāt such a big lift anymore. The writing flows, now. Been a while since a fine distinction, so maybeā¦
Day 4,647: Tigger Fun
Bit of a hectic day. Therapy during lunch seems to do that sometimes. But mostly it was just that work was busy. Or, rather, urgent. Thatās been it, lately. Itās not so much that Iām nose down every second of the day, but rather than when something does need to be done, it needs to be done immediately, as quick as possible. Not my ideal environment, for sure, but it also just comes with theā¦

Parents got some new wheels today! They needed them. My momās maverick got totaled a few months back in a hit and run and sheād been going back and forth on whether to get another oneā¦and after their Lincoln died on the way down here to visit, she just made the decision to go ahead and get another one, which Iām very happy about. Itās the perfect truck for her. Sheās super jazzed. Work was veryā¦

Perturbed because I didnāt get my reading done today to send off to my cowriter. 30 pages shy. Sigh. I hope I can make it up tomorrow. The book reads well, though! Thatās a relief. Just need to keeeeeep griiiiiinding. Fam was in town. Thatās what happened. Distracted. It was a nice day together, though. Got lots of little errands done, watched Spain win the World Cup, took a nap, hung out withā¦

Hit the page count this morning. Woot. Did some reading too, though Iāll have more of that tomorrow before sending it off as the first batch to my co-author. Did the Wolfie hang. Day 4,641: Hot Dog
So, it was one hundred degrees today. Whew! Felt like it, too, which I suppose it always does when it gets that hot. It doesnāt always feel like the temperature it is outside in LA. Sometimes it feels warmer than it really is, sometimes it doesnāt feel quite as warm. But when we hit the high nineties, it always feels like it shouldāfreaking hot. I did lots of writing. I did lots of Netflixing.ā¦

The prequel novel is edited. Off to our readers tomorrow, and then to the mailing list. Lemonade from the neighborhood kidās stand was delicious, especially with cherry. The new book is 50 pages old. Need to add another 10 more over the weekend to hit my goal, but I can do it. Phew. It was looking dicey there around mid-week, but we rallied, big time. The pages flew by today. I made some good choices in my outline, made the scenes so very easy to write. I know some peopleāāpantsersāādonāt outline because the act of coming up with the story once will rob them ofā¦

Good writing day! Whew. I needed it. Almost didnāt happen, which is kinda wild that I recovered, but the morning is usually so crucial to hitting the page count, but my morning was not great. I donāt think I did even half of what I was supposed to. New work computer, which is kinda wild. Iāve had my laptop and iMac Pro from Netflix since the end of 2018, so almost 8 years. They lasted me a long time. The iMac Pro in particular. Itās been a beast. Still is, and I guess youād want it to be considering that computer cost $10k at the time. I looked it up. They specād it to the tippy top on the stuff that really matters, processor and ram.ā¦
