I am in fact alive! Had a con and a few days of prep that kept me on my feet. That fun bit of hell has passed, so I’m kind of here. School picks up in a day or so, so consistency isn’t something I can guarantee I’m afraid. >,>

open starter

      He isn’t sure how long he’s left staring at the page, gaze flickering again and again over the words. Everyone in the division has retired for the night, it seems, but the raven remains. Aside from the slight business from the other room---probably Hisagi finishing up layout, or Kuna bouncing around---the building is silent. He snorts at the thought of the green-haired fukutaichou, thinking to himself that no, there wouldn’t be rhythmic movement, there would be loud fussing.

     As he falls back into not-quite work, his pen is eventually tossed down. Ink freckles the page where the tip landed and Aoi grimaces. He’ll need to restart the entire page---when he gets back. The clock ticks like a metronome and it drives him crazy, enough to where he dons his sandals and treks into the outside world, arms folded and hands tucked into his armpits to fend off winter’s bite.

     Footsteps take their own mind as the shinigami checks out, gaze fixed on the sky as he moves on, around corners and past the too-familiar division entrances. Finding himself at a gate---west he thinks---Aoi pivots on a heel to return, though is caught off guard to see another wandering his way. As they steadily come into view a brow arches, a hum curious in his throat.
