fun bilingual things

- you know the word in second language but not first - your notes sometimes are in both languages at once. some words are quicker to write than their equivalents - phone autocorrects to wrong language - the words that are the same but slightly different in your two languages are always spelled the wrong way. no matter what. - certain memories only available in one language - music genres?? u like maybe alternative and pop music in your first language but like rap and musical theatre in your second - u know what verb tenses are called in your second language but not in your first - saying bullshit like “close the lights please” because it’s idiomatically correct but not in english

things abt me that will make u hate me

-i answer “i don’t know” to 90% of the questions u ask me -i have no sense of self so ill start acting like u if i like u -i’m never not spacey -i constantly make little comments about different things that i hate about myself -im so awkward and uncomfortable all the time for no good reason -i’ll either laugh at every single thing u do and say and u won’t know why 90% of the time or i won’t laugh at anything at all -can only barely maintain a conversation if im extremely interested in it which is rare -if i am maintaining a conversation i will change subjects way too quickly out of no where cause i get distracted and then i won’t shut up -i will literally forget to talk at all if im in a group of people -will not text u back for 97 weeks -have an extreme desire to be loved by everyone but if im bored I’ll act strange with u so ur uncomfortable for my own entertainment then won’t understand why u don’t like me -im constantly self destructing so i am always needing help -i am actually a Horrible Person

I am sick of the girl being pretty once her glasses come off. I’m sick of the boy suddenly staring at her because she’s taken her hair out of a bun. I’m sick of that dances that she said she didn’t want to attend suddenly being the place where she shows up and learns to live.    I want a movie where she gets kissed because her lab goggles left circles around her eye sockets. Where she doesn’t go to the dance and isn’t ashamed of it. Where she wins the science fair and the way the blue ribbon looks on her makes somebody’s knees weak.   I want a movie where the girl doesn’t get tamed. Where she’s still a badass bitch at the end of it. Where she doesn’t need a man because she has a killer girlfriend who is a cute nerdy radio technician. Where her freckles don’t get concealed on the big night. Where she shows up to prom in a suit and a model on her arm.   I want a movie where the queen bee is also a 4.0 student. Where she wears makeup and styles her hair and gets her work done. Where the pretty girl is also pure of heart, works on the weekends at soup kitchens, shows up with heels on. Where the queen bee lets the new girl have the boy because she doesn’t see the point in trying to compete. Where they end up friends at the end and the boy ends up with nothing.    I want a movie where girls are art without having to be painted over. Where we are beautiful without reason, where we don’t need to prove ourselves as being worth a boy’s affections. I want a movie where we don’t have to be secretly fuckable in order to get a happy ending.
