A little late but still worth mentioning. I was very proud of the Castle 5th Graders two weeks ago. They went to my hometown and won the tournament. It was good to get to walk through my old HS. I liked the MS, it was my first time being in the newer MS. Lots of memories in that HS for basketball. There were a lot of good players that have come from Lincoln throughout the 80s and 90s. After that weekend the 5th grade boys had won their 4th tournament out of 4 tournament completed. I got to go back to my home town recently because of a basketball tournament. It was great to see some old friends. Of course I had to go to Bobe's! Which I was able to get a rare photo of my daughter. She hates to go on the basketball trips, thankfully she was able to hang out with family instead of the gym. It was great timing bc Lincoln had a home game that Saturday night at Adams Coliseum. What a day! Super Bowl Sunday, check. Watched a Championship game, check. Watched a football game, nope. Our 2nd grade Castle Gold team decided to play the first game of the day and keep winning to play the last game of the day. At least if I'm going to miss the big game it was for a good reason and they made it worth it. Our boys went 5-1 on the weekend. 1-1 in pool play to get the 3 seed from the A pool. Started the day against Gibson Southern then beat the C pool 1 seed Bar Reeve, A pool 1 seed Bedford, and a tough Evansville North squad in the Championship. We had the toughest path and pulled it out. 4 games in one day, 6 players, 3 2nd graders and 3 1st graders. It was great to see them come together on the defensive end of the floor. Another basketball weekend for Castle 5th grade feeder team. Went undefeated on the weekend while getting to see some different teams this season. This team continues to play fast aggressive defensive which turns into quick points. Landon had a good weekend, he got going offensively better this weekend. 1st tournament for the Castle 5th grade feeder boys. They went 5-0 on the weekend and brought home some hardware. It was good to see them in action and get to see some friends on other teams. Good way to start things off for this team. They played hard and fast, and kept the games at our preferred pace. Big weekend of basketball, 5 games. Keaton played in his first tournament and Landon had to sit and watch him for a change. It was fun to watch and see Keaton compete. He did a good job of playing aggressive and getting after loose balls. His team was divided up into two 6 man teams for the weekend to allow each player more playing time and experience. It worked bc he played 3 games on Sat without subbing bc one of are players was gone. I was very proud of the team for playing hard each game. (Thanks Lila for filling in during the last game some.) If you have kids and you don't know what this picture is, congratulations! This has been the thing this last year. My kids are into it, they love to play online with their friends. I'm at a baseball game and the coach of the visiting team, "Let's go boys, we are warming up. There is no talk about Fortnite."
