I just imagined So many scenarios to cause that grief. Like… What if the NSA agent was Trans? And he checks his Tumblr dash to find a long-ass post of reblogs saying he’s not valid. Or What if the guy is already being harassed at work, being told “Kill yourself” “You’re nothing.” “You’ll never belong here with us.” And he comes home to spend the evening with his 2 daughters and son, as he’s an only parent, and his youngest daughter shows him this post that says, “He’s not valid.” [Who’s not valid?] “The NSA agent reading this.” And then he goes and takes his hunting rifle and goes out into his backyard, positions the barrel beneath his chin, and empties a shell. He left behind a son and 2 girls, because a tumblr post pushed him over the edge because of his work environment.

Looking in the tags I can see that this isn’t joining in on the grammar correction, so here’s my explanation.

Affect Vs. Effect is a really hard one to get right, so if I see it used wrong I try to give a correction (as long as it’s the most recent addition to the post) to help people figure out what the difference is.

My one problem is I know it’s innocent, but as someone who grew up w/ a speech impediment, pls don’t type like “dish” mean “this”. Don’t causally make fun of speech impediments even if you don’t mean it. It always read to me as others mocking my speech impediment, and in some cases people were, and it made me feel like shit. Just don’t purposefully type words so they’d be pronounced with an “sh” when they’re meant to be pronounced w/ an “s”. I know it’s all in good fun, but also I was bullied for this shit. I wanna be clear never harass or mock kids over it, but maybe encourage them not to?
