FĂ«anor & Curufin: Splendor. They are wearing Noldor informal daywear inspired by Baroque/Rococo European Aristocracy (17thâ18th century), especially the Sun King and the extravagant courts of Versailles. Opulent, luxurious robes with theatrical flair and shimmering footwear. FĂ«anor is wearing the dramatic gemstones that once belonged to MĂriel. Fingolfin & Turgon: Discipline. They are dressed in Vanyarin court fashion inspired by late Ming Dynasty China (17th century). I tried to portray the restrained elegance of high-ranking Ming officials and princes. Layered hanfu, structured silhouette, and minimal jewelry. Refined nobility rather than ostentatious wealth. Finarfin & Finrod: Harmony. They are the most timeless here in my opinion. They are wearing Telerin outdoor fashion inspired by Ancient Mediterranean clothing (particularly Minoan and Classical Greece) mixed with Art Nouveau. Lots of drape and movement, sandals (because the Teleri love walking by the sea), gold jewelry, olive greens, laurel-style headpieces, wrapped waists. I tried to go 'less' historical noble and 'more' idealized gods.

Absolutely speechless at this commission from @mandhos of the berry fight from These Echoes We Have Left! Iâm in awe at the details here and how perfectly they captured the scene. đđđ Thank you so much for this!!
From this excerpt:
They rolled back into the trillium and Balan scrambled atop him at last, pinning his arms to the ground and grinning down at him in triumph. âBested,â he gasped, laughing still as he caught his breath and tightened his grip about the otherâs wrists, eyes glinting. âLoose thine hand, Iâll have my vengeance.
But the other lay frozen, a sea of gold splayed about his head, and his eyes were fixed on Balanâs, unblinking. And again, as amid the dancing at Tol Sirion, Balan knew he might have him if he wished. The king lay at his mercy here within the trillium and violets, marked with the grassâ long shadows falling sharp against the golden light. He would yield. Balan could bend down now and press his lips to the otherâs, stained bright with the berriesâ dye, and no resistance would meet him. He could slip a hand behind his neck and draw him in, taste the tart fruit upon the otherâs mouth and feel him fall away beneath his touch. And he had been dizzy with the knowledge of his own power.
âOpen your hand,â he had said again, in his own tongue now, and obediently NĂłmâs fingers parted. The airnaâakran glistened in the sunlight, bright as blood against his skin. They had been crushed in the struggle, but held at least somewhat intact, and Balan shifted up slowly to gather them in his mouth. âThere is a saying amongst my peopleâthe nectar of justice is as honey upon the tongue.â His lips brushed the otherâs palm and amusement rumbled through his voice. âBut these youâve left me are tart as gooseberries.â A trickle of juice had run down along the wrist and he set his lips to this in turn, little bothering to disguise the kiss as he lingered, the otherâs pulse pounding against his mouth. It pounded too against his palms where they held NĂłmâs arms pinned in the grass beside his head, and Balan hesitated for a moment, then let his lips brush along the otherâs forearm as he drew back to meet the grey eyes once more. âA creature of flesh after all, ghomenno?â
âNever anything other.â NĂłmâs voice had been scarcely a breath, shivering as it drifted up to meet him.

i saw your edrahil art (gorgeous!) and that youre taking suggestions for silm art. soooo on the subject of finrod sidekicks, i wondered if youd ever draw beor? i think about beor x finrod constantly after reading the atandil series and love seeing all the different ways hes depicted in fandom. no worries if hes not in your interest! thanks for sharing all your silm art its so beautifu!
Ahh! thank you, thank you for such a nice compliment, yes! from time to time I think about Finrod and Beor, you know Finrod is so easy to love :,) and even more so if it's an elf/human tragedy, I just think about Finrod seeing how all his human friends leave so quickly and it never stops hurting (sorry, I'm going to cry a bit here)âŠ
yes I also thought about Beorn that is not the same as Beor ha-ha
