In camp camp season 1 episode 11 (Camporee) when everyone was happy and cheering because they won using their special talents Max seems really sad

That is not his usual annoyed face, that is literal sadness.

Why is he sad? Because he was never signed up for any (of the many) Camp activities and he feels like he has no talent

Well it wasnt his fault it was his parents who didnt sign him up for anything

That brings another thing

Not only is he sad but a second after when David tried to explain why its wrong to only focus on the one thing you can do Max just stops him in a middle of his sentence and says

“No one cares David”

Maybe he said that because he already tried to proove that to his parents but they werent listening, they didnt care for what Max was trying to say

Don’t really have one, unless you count all the elderly furries he apparently has monthly orgies with. That’s kinda cute, in a disgusting way.

3: brotp:

So he’s known David since Davey was a really little kid, right? I have a hc that QM’s basically his weird, creepy protective uncle. He just sorta hovers around, not saying anything but keeping an eye out and making sure everything’s okay with David. It’s as close to affection as QM really gets.

I also like to think that he and Gwen … don’t bond exactly, but they have similar interests (namely, drinking and not being chipper). I could see them drinking together sometimes. In dead silence.

No one more than 20 years younger than him. Which is … almost everyone.

5: first headcanon that pops into my head:

I … don’t think QM can die? Like he just straight-up drinks rat poison, and it’s absolutely not the first time he’s done that. He lives on Spooky Island, or at least goes there regularly despite there being something on that island that killed at least one person (Jasper), and he doesn’t seem to have aged at all in the last 10-15 years, if you compare camp photos.

Quartermaster might be some kind of god.

7: one way in which I relate to this character:

You know, there aren’t a lot of similarities that spring to mind? I just hope that when I’m old I manage to creep people out this much. Seriously, QM is elderly goals. Look at him, living his life and just apparently having a grand time. Employed at his age, having cheese n’ fruit orgies, seemingly immortal … pretty excellent gig, if you ask me.

8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character:

NOTHING. He is perfect. Mostly because he clearly doesn’t give a shit, so even if he does something embarrassing he’s just gonna own it, so I’m not gonna waste time being embarrassed if he doesn’t give a fuck.

9: cinnamon roll or problematic fave?

I feel like the fact that he’s killed people should disqualify him from the first category, but I coo over him like he’s the softest cinnamon roll ever. My grumpy terrifying boy.

And before you ask, YES they are my favorite characters, and NO I am not trying to hurt anyone by saying this. I’m just stating the facts: Preston is a self-absorbed jerk, and Harrison has a twisted sense of what’s okay and what’s not.

Before y'all can react and yell at me, let me justify myself:

Harrison is adorable and I love him, but damn the boy’s got problems. See for yourself:

-He has basically scarred Max for life by making him cough up ribbons and bouquets and god knows what else, and his response to doing this was ‘i was trying to hit Neil but oh well.’

-He tricked Neil into believing in magic by making him think Nikki’s life was on the line.

-He pushed Nerris into a lake because he wanted to look like he was helping her out…then nearly drowned them both.

-He broke his and Nerris’s egg, then put the hat back on Nerris’s head—wtf bro

-He offered to saw his parents in half, which on hand is great and all but on the other hand REALLY HARRISON you know your magic is kind of faulty and still you wanna try pulling this shit??

Preston isn’t really problematic like that.., he’s just a jerk that people like to pretend he’s not. He scoffs at everyone’s acting, he screams like a banshee at his grandma, he has some of the best lines in the show (‘my acting career, like the mistakes of so many teenage girls, has been…aborted’)—hell, even when he was being abused by Nurf he maintained his sass levels (‘im a terrible parent!’ ‘you really are, nurf.’) We are dealing with the loudest, most savage shakespeare ever—and yet people transform him smol cupcake.

Look, I don’t hate these characters. In fact, I adore them. I would kill a man for them. I would take them in my home, and pay good money for their education.

And there’s the thing… when I talk about loving these characters, I mean THESE characters. Not these shy, Tortured™ versions you guys have created.

Did Preston and Harrison have to got through some serious shit? Yes.

Does that make them any less asshole-y? No.

Treat them like the obnoxious drama queen and mag-prick they are, and make them SHINE.

Pretty much all the characters in Camp Camp are assholes, and I love them. The only one I’d say is innocent is Space Kid, I don’t remember him annoying people on purpose.
