Making a cardboard "folder" of sorts and taping it around the edges should keep it flat and fairly protected, but will increase the shipping price as it's a "nonbendable". Domestic US will probably run you $3-4 for shipping, Canada starting around $9.50, Mexico about $12, and anywhere else $13.50 and up. (Been shipping off prints and comics, had to look into it myself fairly recently.) Bubble mailers will also jack the price up (they're "packages"); plain ole manila envelopes should be fine.

Ok cool. Maybe I’ll set aside about $5-$10 to cover possible shipping costs. $5 honestly sounds about right to me, but depending how rigid I want to keep them I might need to set aside $10. And yes, that’s the kind of packaging I was thinking.

Hello! I just had a quick question on if you do commissions or not. I'm trying to get a great Christmas Present for my boyfriend and a commission from IronStylus himself would be amazing, if you don't though that is alright of course! I love your work by the way!

Hiya, I’m actually trying to figure that out. I’ve been thinking of doing commissions for a little bit, but I don’t have a ton of time to do extensive ones. I think if I can figure out a tier like other artists do for each level of complexity/rendering I can manage something.

So, at the moment, no. But maybe in the near future.

In response to you selling those drawings, I would say there would be a definite interest. I'd also probably price them at $30 at least due to your skill level. The best way of packaging would perhaps be rolling the drawings into a tube. They won't get bent or ripped that way! Also, I'd say bumping up the cost due to the proceeds going to charity is totally a personal choice!

Thanks! My thought it to probably put them in a flat cardboard.. something.. since the thickness of the board doesn’t really allow for bending/rolling.

Thinking of Doing a Thing: League of Legends Sketch-a-day Champion Drawings, Proceeds for Charity.

Hi, been a while. Interesting 2015 and such.

So I threw this idea out on the Twitters. I have these 13 drawings from sketch-a-day last year where I did 12 champions from A-D (two Dianas). I’m not really doing anything with them. I don’t think it’d be a great idea to sell them for myself as they’re League characters. However, I thought it might be cool to put them up for auction on eBay and donate the proceeds to charity. I’m probably going to pick from an educational or mental health charity.

This is a big picture of all of the images, but after I cut them they’ll end up roughly as 5 1/2 x 9 inch toothy bristol board cards. No white bleed, the images run to the very edge of the paper. I’ll probably sign them on the back or something. I don’t want to throw my ugly signature on the front. Most of them are blue pencil, some of them have further dark blue or black lines also. Some of them are sort of light. Not sure if that should affect the price.

So, wondering if I could get your help! I’ve never done this before. I know there’s a lot of artists on Tumblr who have made, sold and shipped thier work to people around the world. So, some of the things I’m curious about are the questions below:

Heck, do you think people would be interested in this work?

How much do you think a good base price is? Some other artists sell their drawings for about like.. $25-$50 sometimes I think. Not sure what sort of price point to put on these and how much to buffer for the purpose of charity donations.

Should the fact that they’re going to charity bring the base price up?

I’m thinking of going through eBay and using it’s “sell for charity” option. Is this the best option or is there another/better route?

Should I set aside some of the proceeds for shipping costs?

What would be the best way to send out 6x9 inch bristol board pencil drawings in terms of packaging?

What service would you use? USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc?

How easy/difficult is it to send internationally if need be?

Any other tips or advice?

So yeah. Not sure how long this will take me. Apparently eBay’s listing isn’t the easiest thing to do. I’d like to create sort of an FAQ for the items in general that cover the basics of how the drawings will be sold and shipped.

I’d appreciate any input you guys might have. I’d love to get it all done in March sometime, then if successful do it more.
