What now, Daddy Lou?
my comic for terrible comic day 2026
Long story short: I’m into kpop now and I draw a lot of kpop fanart (mostly nmixx..)
NSWERs WHERE ARE YALL AT??
Ethel Cain characters face claims
Janie is inspired by Taylor Russell (specifically in Bones and All)
Isaiah is inspired by Kyle Gallner (specifically in The Passenger)
Logan I found the hardest to create. I took some inspiration from a couple actors, I imagine him with a pretty face but more masculine and rugged with shaggy dirty blonde hair. Not sure if I love how he turned out I might need to play around more

Nicki reaching down to pet this dog mid-conversation must have made Lesat's heart start dancing
I have sooo many feelings about this episode that I may end up writing about at some point, but for now I just want to say that I am so happy and relieved about how Nicki was written. The way his mental illness was acknowledged and named, the way he was given more agency in his fate (to cut off his own hand!), the way that Lestat felt culpable for his decline and death. The way that Armand wasn't spun as a villain but someone who once again had to clean up a mess, who wanted to help Lestat. The way we felt the full emotional impact of Nicki's death as it played out on Lestat's fate but we didn't see it's horror. The warmth in Lestat and Nicki's first meeting. The way Lestat acknowledged that their love was real. The way that Lestat's little white lies turn from something kind ("your father said he's proud of you") to something worse ("you have typhoid, there are no vampires") but don't lose their gentleness. The way we get little glimpses of their first night together but mostly Lestat guards that scene from Daniel and the audience, like it's something precious. The way that Nicki smiled again as Lestat sung about making peace with the horrors of his death. He burned alone but there's closure. He burned alone but Lestat isn't carrying that by himself anymore.
Nicki is the first disabled character in TVC and he's the first to be shuffled offstage and dispatched without ceremony when his presence impedes the progress of his healthy love interest (a pattern that repeats several more times over the series). This felt like narrative justice to me. I sobbed because I was so sad about Nicki and so happy they got it right. They really really got it right.

I don't even have any quips about Jessica's homosociality or Emily Dickinson "If you were coming in the fall" laser eyes or what a bitch in sheep's clothing George is. All I can say is, wow, this is depressing as fuck.
