Runtime
Whelp, shes all finished. Ran my 12 k long run today in just under an hour and a half. It doesn't seem like much to some folks but to me this is a huge accomplishment, it's my farthest recorded run to date and I felt awesome. I could've kept going. Whatever I ate today sat really well and I felt strong and capable today. I had to fight through itband issues and some knee pain around km 8 but no biggie. I didn't even feel like I fell into stride till around km 6 or 7. I foam rolled after and all I can say is owwwwww...
Friday!
Its Friday!! Missed my run yesterday as I was out of town school supply shopping and visiting and didn't get back till late. Sadface. But at least the kid is ready to go back, whenever school is back...I'm looking at you teachers... I ate like I did a long run though 😫 Gonna pound out my 12k after work today instead. Oh! I also bought myself a foam roller, gonna use it after my run today... Kinda scared, kinda stoked. I
Finishing an ultra ... #runnersgrumblr

One day
Dark morning hill runs
5 am, 5 km… 3 hills. One short and steep, one long and gradual and one long and steep. I’m not sure what possesed me to run in the dark but it was alright.
I ate half a banana before I left and it definitely wasn’t the worst choice, I really don’t think my body likes food that early though. It needs time. But all things considered the banana was okay!
Anyways, here’s my list of things I thought about while running in the dark!
* oh shit there’s no street light there, better sprint * what if a bear gets me * shit is that breathing behind me?! * nope just my breathing * relax relax relax * there’s a car coming, what if they abduct me?! * who would try to chase down a runner anyways? * who am I kidding? I’m not that fast.. * just get it done so you can eat food
Today's 5k
I did a faster 5km run this morning on not much sleep. I was about 20 seconds off of my best average pace for 5k. I know I could’ve done better with more sleep and I think anything longer I would need to ar least drink a shake before hand but my breathing technique seems to work amazing.
Clueless
So today I did a quick strength routine at home. Tomorow is a 5k short run day. I went for a drive on the route I plan on running my 20k this morning and I'm a little bit filled with dread and a little bit filled with excitement. When I tell my friends about my runs they think I'm crazy. They tell me I'm nuts and they'd never be able to do it. It makes me feel good to hear that. A good compliment to give to a runner is "you're crazy". But at the same time there a people out there running things like Badwater and Fatdog. And here I am totally clueless, bragging about my future 20k. I've been running for 6 years, not long distances until last year though. I'm a rookie, and sometimes I think I'm crazy too. But then I think of those people running 100 milers. They are nuts, but it's a kind of nuts I can really admire. Maybe one day I'll be that crazy.
Run Britt run
I’ve decided tumblr is the place to do this I guess. I’ve decided I need to keep tabs on my runs, like a journal so I know what works for me, breathing and striking techniques, food and drinks ect.
I missed my planned first ever half marathon this year due to an injury but I have a goal set to run 20k on October 4th 2014.
I will run it despite the fact that I’m not in a race.
As well as the 5k color run on Sept 27th I’m registering for!! Woooo
