During the past four months, we, customers of banks in the United States, we have encountered serious problems in the use of banking services. According to the main stream media and security experts, these problems are arising from cyber attacks of a group called "Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Cyber Fighters" on U.S. banks. Their cyber attacks started after release of a so-called anti Islam film, "Innocence of Muslims", on YouTube. That was just after they had cautioned American officials to remove the video from YouTube but the officials didn't care.
They have issued several statements since before starting the attacks until now and have explained their reason for the attacks. The texts of Qassam's statements have been published repeatedly in American media. Also it's said that several American news agencies had interviews with this group and asked many questions about the nature and cause of their attacks.
They are a Muslim group who believe release of this film is a great insult to the Prophet of Islam which has provoked anger of all Muslims worldwide. They blame U.S. government for refusing to remove the film from the Internet and for not punishing the makers of "Innocence of Muslims".
This cyber group have repeatedly said in their statement if U.S. govt. remove the offensive film and stop its release, they'll stop their cyber attacks on the banks and financial institutes of America.
But this is a question for the banks' customers that why President Obama has not yet taken any action to remove that film! Mr. President, how long American banks' customers should be punished for a less important film?! Isn't it better if the security and intelligence officials of America choose another way to stop these cyber attacks, instead of waiting every week for a new round of Qassam attacks and being surrendered to it? These furious fighters themselves have proposed a key : Removal of that so-called anti Islam film from the Internet.
Unfortunately U.S. authorities have so far failed to protect the banks of the country against these attacks. On the other hand, we, customers of online banking services, have been the weekly victims of Qassam cyber attacks on the major banks. We have suffered from many disruptions in our banks’ websites during the past weeks.
We still have hope in the ability of President Obama for "change". We believe that he can adopt a peaceful and reasonable solution to prevent further damage to the people of its country.
We ask Mr. President to take an action to remove the video from the Internet to stop the cyber attacks on American banks and to prevent possible expansion of attacks to other centers and institutes of the country. We ask President Obama to ensure the safety of our bank accounts. We ask him to address banks customers’ anxiety and immediately think of a solution before the people decide to get their money out of banks because of the current insecurity.
Mr. President, we hope you choose a solution which has the lowest cost for the country, especially given the current tough economic circumstances.
