I’m so glad I’m seeing more and more Lundy Bancroft quotes on my dash because this book CHANGES THE LIVES OF ABUSE VICTIMS. The programs run for rehabilitating abusive men through the courts? Bancroft DESIGNED THEM. His programs are replicated ALL OVER THE WORLD. He literally wrote THE book on abuser rehabilitation.

I started reading this book and it’s incredible.

The author describes in detail how abusers can change and what has to happen before they are willing to do so.

This gets rid of the idea of abusers as just inhuman monsters who can’t help themselves, and replaces it with understanding of how abusers are made and how they can change.

HOWEVER, the author points out that not all abusive men do change, and they never change because their partner begged them to.

In fact, it sounds like the best way to get an abusive man to change is to leave him.
