BACKGROUND

kismet harbor has always been home to isabella as she was surrounded by all of her siblings. she loved it here, but when eddie graduated high school the whole family was moved to taos, new mexico where she still managed to make friends, but nothing felt like home the way that kismet did.

she finished up high school in taos, but then ended up going to arizona state university for business management. she wasn't sure what she wanted to do with her life so she figured that this would be her best bet since it would open the most doors. she always felt lost with what to do with her life. while in college though, she joined a sorority and made a bunch of girlfriends who also felt the same way. it was nice to have people that she could relate to. 

While at arizona state university she met liam and the two of them fell for each other quickly. there were a lot of shared interests and one of them was how much they frequented the gym. she was always worried about taking care of herself and liam seemed the same way about his body. he was definitely nice to look at for sure.

isabella got a call from a friend from college who had a startup company and wanted isabella to handle all of the financials. she agreed and her and liam moved to portland. she was close enough to family and knew that he would enjoy it as well. they never talked about what their lives were going to look like, but it was nice enjoying the ride.

isabella had gotten close with someone at work and they ended up sleeping together. she didn't mean to cheat on her fiance, but then she ended up pregnant. she was sure that her and her coworker used protection and she still ended up pregnant.

she wasn't sure who the father was at that point so she decided to just pack her stuff in the middle of the night, needing time for herself. decided to confide in her siblings, she ended up back in kismet where they were and she didn't declare all the details but she now has a beautiful daughter named naomi.

now that isabella has been back in town and having her daughter she got herself a regular 9-5 job where she didn't have to worry about staying late or having weird hours. she also got into photography where she takes pictures and has learned about photoshop in editing. isabella also joined boundless bookworms because she enjoys reading and when you're looking for her you can find her at uptown books or at home knitting because she's an old woman.

Devi's smile was warm as Isabella spoke, "Please, it's an honor that you were able to go with me." She looked at the other woman, "Which of the extras are you considering?" Devin inquired, followed by a nod of her head. "It does spark joy. I get up every day and get to do something I love." While it might not have been the choice of her parents and they made that very clear when they cut her off, it was what she wanted to do. "I haven't added any new menu items yet. I figured I would wait until fall rolls around and then I can get those cold weather comfort foods out for people. I think that will draw in more of an audience when it's slightly more miserable out." @isabella-castro

"i've heard that the seaweed wraps are actually really good for your skin so that's something that i would consider paying more for. i want to know if it actually had positive health benefits. but i'm open for any of the extras because a spa day is just amazing and who knows when i'm going to have another one." isabella admitted while looking over at devi. "i bet you can add some phenomenal fall flavors to your menu. they have such good fall flavors. i do think that people will be more drawn in when the weather isn't as hot, that's good thinking."

Ruby was slightly taken aback when the girl said she knew her from her books and not her blog. Ruby had always tried to keep those two things separated from one another her not just her own privacy, but those who were involved with what she had gone through as a teenager. Especially more so now that her daughter was in her life. "Oh, well uh, thank you." Ruby said, still taken aback. "I actually grew up here. It's a great little town. " Her eyes were going to the little boy in the stroller for a second. "How old is he? He's adorable." @isabella-castro

"it really is a great town. i love it as well. i grew up here for a bit as well and i'm glad that i came back because it's been such a great town to me and i wanted manny to experience it as well." she mentioned as she looked at him. "he's about to be a year old in september!"

"Being able to do it just about anywhere does have its perks." She had often just found herself on the back porch of the townhouse she was staying in with Teagan while they figured out their housing situations. "Great," Yasmin said with a warm smile before nodding her head to Isabella's words. "Of course," she confirmed before moving to get a quiet table so that the two of them could properly catch up with one another. Yasmin sipped slowly on her own coffee while she awaited the return of the brunette. @isabella-castro

"yeah i'm also jealous of people who have remote jobs and can do their work from just about anywhere. like on a fall day they can just sit in the park and enjoy the weather. i mean i guess they could do it in any season but fall just seems like the perfect season in my opinion. something about the ambiance with all the leaves changing." she said as she was beginning to picture the next season rolling in. "awesome, i appreciate it." isabella responded before she went up, ordered her coffee and then joined yasmin at the table that she had picked out for the two of them. "what grade do you do again?"

On his days off, Liam did his best not to drink at Mad Monk Brewing where he worked. He wanted to support the other local establishments in Kismet Harbor. It was late and he had been hanging out with some friends but they had to get home for other obligations. Finishing up a beer, he stood, paying his tab and began to head toward the door when a small gasp took his attention. At first, Liam thought that he had run into someone but when he looked around, he realized where or rather who it had come from. "Isabella." He breathed her name, his throat closing up around it. "how have you been?" she asked him softly as she looked at him, noticing the statue that he seemed to be turning into since he obviously wasn't expecting to see her. she wasn't expecting to see liam either, but she was more happy than he probably was. she had been wanting to reach out to liam and speak to him about getting a test done on manny so that she could determine if liam was the father or not. she knew that it was going to take him a second to find his footing probably, but she was willing to be nice even though she was the one who messed up.

"You haven't seen me the morning after a rager." She didn't do that anymore, but it was fine to joke about, right? She shrugged. "It's Ben and Jerry's so it makes sense the flavor wouldn't be in some shop like this. But it's Half-Baked." When the other said her name and added that she grew up there, it seemed to click in Diana's mind and she snapped her fingers before pointing at Isabella. "Castro! Eddie's sister." She knew Eddie and definitely remembered the woman. "You were a year above me in school." They would've been in the same grade if Diana wasn't born in October. "I'm Diana Whitney." Though, it seemed the other didn't remember her; which was valid. They ran in different circles back then. "You have a kid now? That's wild." "oh my god shut up. i love half baked. that flavor is superior. i like the peanut butter half baked too because i am a fiend for anything with peanut butter in it. it tastes so good." she mentioned to diana while smiling wide, glad that they were already connecting on something. "yes! i'm eddie's sister and was i?" she then heard the name, "oh! yeah i think i heard of you before and probably passed by you in the hallways but don't remember, sorry for that." she laughed while then nodded. "yeah it's crazy. definitely not something that was planned but it was something that ended up happening and i'm glad it did." even though it didn't happen the best way, she was still grateful to have manny in her life.

needing a much needed night out, isabella dressed herself in a pair of jeans, a nice blouse, and heels before applying a light amount of makeup. she decided that she was going to stop over at wingman's pub to get some of the best wings that she ever had and a couple of drinks before meeting up with friends later. she was sitting at a hightop table, surveying the menu for a bit as she sipped from her cosmo. she set down the menu because she was pretty sure of what flavor wings she was going to get. once her eyes moved back up to survey the room, they were met with liam adair. she let out a small gasp and it was a good thing she wasn't holding her glass because she probably would've dropped it. Diana shook her head. "It's no problem. I don't mind the company." She reassured the mother again as she tried to figure out where she knew the woman from or even if she did. She took another bite of her ice cream and shrugged. "I guess the cookie dough is the best since they don't carry my favorite ice cream here." She sat up a little. "How do I know you? Have we partied together before?" She asked curiously and wondered if it was from her partying days or not. Everything over the past several years tended to blend together. @isabella-castro

"awesome, i'm glad to hear that. it's nice to have someone to talk to that doesn't just babble back at you." isabella laughed softly while looking at her. "what is your favorite type of ice cream? i hate when places don't carry mine. i'm a big fan of mint oreo or some variation of that but a lot of of them only have mint chocolate chip." isabella shrugged her shoulders a bit. "i don't think so? i mean i don't know if i even know you. but i'm isabella." she explained to the woman who was questioning their potential connection. "i grew up here but i left for a bit and just came back recently."

Spa days were not typically in Devi's schedule, but when left a gift card as a tip, she wasn't going to turn it down. Devi invited a long-time friend, Isabella. She had been working nonstop, they both had been. Since moving back to Kismet Harbor, her food truck had been her main priority and hadn't taken any time for herself. "I'm glad you were free to come. I didn't really want to go alone." Though Devi were perfectly capable of going places alone, the spa felt like the perfect place to catch up in a quiet setting. "I can't remember, either. Honestly." And it wasn't an exaggeration by any means. "Hey the food truck is no walk in the park," she laughed softly. "I've been good, busy. I mean I swear I eat, sleep and breathe that food truck but the sales have been growing every day." @isabella-castro

"oh i am not going to pass up on a trip to the spa, especially when it's basically free. i might have to pay for some extra amenities that i'm looking for, but this was really nice of you to invite me. i really appreciate it." isabella always made sure to show her gratitude for things like this. she was always happy to have the opportunity to be doing something like this. "i mean that's what happens when you own something i feel like, but at the end of the day as long as you are happy and super passionate about it then that's all that matters. if it sparks joy then that's the most important thing." she mentioned to her friend. "i gotta come by and get something again, it's been a minute. anything new?"

Yasmin smiled, shaking her head. "Trust me, I get that. That's me all year long until summer rolls around." Though she were busy in the summer, preparing for the upcoming school year, she wasn't as buried in her work during the summer. "Plus, that is why they make coffee, to make the draining more worthwhile." She told Isabella, "Did you have time to sit? Catch up a little bit." @isabella-castro

"i would love to have the summer off. i mean i know you still work and get things ready for the upcoming school year, but to be able to do that and out in the sun enjoying the beautiful weather? that would be absolutely amazing honestly. yeah, i do have time to sit for a bit. i would love that actually." she said with a big smile as she looked at her. "i just have to get my coffee to get me started and then i will come join you. get a table for us?"

Ruby was out getting coffee, her head was down, reading over emails that had just been sent out to her. Edits, meetings, and all that jazz that came with releasing her next book, so she didn't pay attention. Her eyes only scanned as she went to cross the road. The town was small, so she knew she wasn't in that much danger of being run over, unlike in New York. Ruby had stopped briefly to respond to the email and hadn't heard the commotion behind her until she felt the stroller hit behind her knees. Quickly, she turned around to see a woman and her child. Before Ruby could say it was okay, the woman said her name, surprised that she was getting recognized in a small town where most people knew one another. "Yes, uh, that's me," Ruby spoke in a softened voice, calm and polite. "Are you both okay?" She continued looking down at the small child, giving them a small wave. "yes, yes we are totally fine! i mean he definitely is but i don't know if i'm okay. i totally love your book! i am such a big fan of you." she explained to her and then smiled. "thank you, he is a cutie pie." isabella said before manny looked up at ruby and smiled. "i didn't know you were in kismet harbor. what brought you here?" she asked curiously. she didn't want to come off as a huge fan girl and annoying but she was so excited that she was in front of ruby.

Diana was enjoying some ice cream after a long day. Getting up early in the morning took some getting used to and so did doing work on at the stables, but she was getting used to it. The heat that was passing through town, though, and that morning had been killer as she worked on cleaning out some of the stalls. She was now exhausted and just wanted a cool, sweet treat to cool down. She was devouring the dessert and she looked up when she heard a voice. She looked to see a slightly familiar face, but she couldn't place it, and a baby. "Uh, sure. Yeah." She sat up a little and motioned to the seat. "Go ahead." @isabella-castro

"awesome. we really appreciate it. i know that it's hot out and you might want some space to yourself, but we will just do our own thing." isabella mentioned towards her as she looked at her and then she went back towards her child and began to feed him the ice cream that he had been fussing over. she had learned how to hold a cup of ice cream and a cone in her hand to where she could enjoy her treat while emmanuel enjoyed his. "what's your favorite things to get from here?" she asked the stranger as she turned towards her.

It was just part of who he was, who liked to enjoy watching people and thinking of what the other person was doing and who they were. He looked at the woman and the kid sleeping in the stroller and smirked, "Running them around tired is always a good idea." he nodded as he heard from friends and people with kids that it was a good idea.

"But you should give it a try, people watching and acting like you know who they are and what they are doing," he said, looking at the guy who was lying down on the top of the lunch bench. "See like him, what do you think he's doing? Who is he and why?" he smirked. @isabella-castro.

"thank you, i think so as well. it's crazy how much energy these tiny little people have. i mean i remember being little but maybe i remember everything differently where i don't have all this energy and maybe i actually did. i don't know, but i'm really getting a run for my money." she mentioned to him as she laughed a bit. "i've seen people watch others and then they make up scenario's in their head as to why every person is doing what they are doing." she laughed softly. "like they will make up why someone came to the park alone rather than with a family. it's not something that i've ever taken part in, well maybe once, but other than that, never." bella laughed.

isabella was walking around town with manny in the stroller and she didn't know where they were off to, but maybe coffee was the best idea. she decided that she was going to head to a local coffee shop, but before she could actually get there, someone shoved her in passing which caused the stroller to push into someone infront of her, "oh my. i'm so sorry!" she said out loud and then the individual turned around and her eyes went wide a bit as she looked at the other woman, "r-ruby elliot? i-i." she stopped as she looked at her. "someone pinch me, i think i'm dreaming."

isabella was a sucker for a farmer's markey and she was was always going to kismet's harbor market since the vendors always seemed amazing and polite. she was walking around with a few bags on her arm already but one thing that she had to do was stop and look at the jewelry. isabella grabbed a necklace and she held it up to her neck as if it was going to be hanging there and she looked over at the closest person to her and smiled, "what do you think? does it look like i can pull this off?" she asked.

isabella had emmanuel in the stroller as she walked up to frosty bliss. she knew that this was going to be a messy experience, but she knew that he deserved it. it was close to his birthday and she knew that he deserved it. she walked up to the counter and ordered him a cup of twist ice cream and herself a chocolate cone with chocolate sprinkles. when she turned around, she saw that all of the tables were full. she was holding both te cone and the cup as well as moving the stroller around. walking up to the table with someone at it, isabella cleared her throat a bit before speaking, "sorry, do you mind if we join you? we won't bother you, i promise."

isabella needed a spa day. it was nice to get out and about and with a friend, devi. as she was sitting there with the cucumbers over her eyes and in a robe, she spoke out loud with her friend, devi that she came with. "this is so nice and peaceful. thank you for suggesting this because i can't remember the last time i relaxed like this. i know i work a nice nine to five job, but sometimes the corporate world can be ireal brutal." she mentioned to her friend while leaning back in her seat. "how have you been though? we were getting massages and i feel like i was in heaven the whole time that we didn't get the chance to catch up."
