PERSONALITY

When people first meet Isabella, they’re drawn to her deep dimples and innocent nature. Her smile is infectious; she’s kind and sweet to almost everyone and extremely helpful. CHILDHOOD

Born on a warm day in Dublin, Ireland, Liam and Brenna, her two loving parents, and her 3-year-old brother Landon welcomed Isabella Bree Fox into the world.

Growing up, she spent most of her time in Ireland, but due to her father being originally from England, she traveled there frequently and learned its culture and different ways of living.

Success fan thick through the Fox family as her dad worked as a medical physician and her mother, a fashion model, turned editor to a popular fashion magazine.

Due to the high expectations they held, the clan's daughter stayed true to her shy nature and kept her head in books.

ADOLESCENCE

When Isabella entered her adolescent years, her and her family up and moved to New York City, New York due to her dad accepting a new job as a doctor in a family practice.

She didn’t take the significant changes of atmosphere, culture, and new way of living well and became the hermit of the family.

High school was rough on her as she was a fly on the wall and had difficulty making friends and standing out.

The only time she was happiest was her time spent in the book club as it was a light shining at the end of the tunnel for her.

Focusing hard on schoolwork and being the school’s nerd, she doesn’t bring up that she was extremely bullied.

She got picked on, called horrific names, and was harassed multiple times. 

This developed her to have reoccurring panic attacks and horrible self-confidence.

After graduating from high school, she got a full ride to Stanford University, packed her bags, and moved to California.

The first two years of college went as good as they could, but the last two took a turn for the worst.

ADULTHOOD

Twenty years young and feeling good, Isabella focused on her studies and stayed within her minuscule group of friends.

During a school project, she was paired with people out of her comfort zone and tried to befriend them to the best of her ability.

At the start, they included her in everything, made her feel safe, and believed things were looking up.

As she wasn’t expecting a clue, the group started to bully her, and horrible memories of her teenage trauma ran loops in her mind.

Experiencing the pain and sadness again created suicidal thoughts and they got so bad to the point of her dropping out of college during her final year.

Moving back into her family home in NYC, she pretended like things were back to normal even though they weren’t.

As soon as the suicidal thoughts became too much, her parents hired a therapist and she still sees them to this day.

Reading books made her hopeful and as soon as she was ready to face the world again, many book stores called her name.

Throughout these past years, she worked in multiple book stores in different positions and stayed in check with her mental health.

PRESENT

When Landon introduced Nora to Isabella, she saw the woman as an older sister figure and eventually worked for her at The Open Book.

As she worked as a cashier, she was introduced to the O’Malley family and the rest of the mafia.

At first, she was highly hesitant toward the gang and feared being bullied again, but they brought a sense of calmness to the worried woman and she’s forever grateful.

At the young age of 34, she’s currently an associate to the O’Malley family, the manager of The Open Book, and finding more self-confidence with her improving mental health each and every day.

        Enormous butterflies circled in Bella’s stomach as she stood before the large crowd filled with fancy-dressed and social people. If it weren’t for Landon and Nora’s enthusiasm and persuasion, she wouldn’t have bothered to attend, and now that she draped her arm around Manuel’s, she was here to stay for the evening. As her eyes scanned the filled room, the bookstore manager’s rising anxiety made her grip tighten around his muscular bicep unconsciously. About to get lost in her heightened worries, a close-by sound brought her back to reality. Quickly realizing what she was doing, her grip loosened, and her eyes darted toward her date’s. “Oh, I’m sorry,” The sincere apology couldn’t have left her lips quicker. “I promise I wasn’t trying to cut off your circulation. I’m just not a fan of large crowds, that’s all.”

    While he waited for his darling sister to come out of the back, Landon perused the shelves of old novels, the ones that peaked his curiosity the most. Nothing like stumbling upon a first or second edition of a good read to take it home and display it proudly on one’s bookshelf. In a world where most things are digital, Landon still enjoys having the physical copy of the books he reads. He couldn’t imagine living in a world where books ceased from existing.

    When Isabella came within sight, he put down the book he had been scrolling through and gave her his full attention. “Spill some tea. I need some good gossip to lift my spirits. It’s been a rather long day,” he said dryly.

        As soon as Isabella’s coworker told her that someone was here to see her, she knew exactly who they were speaking about. She knew Landon’s schedule well, and she became instantly happy that he was here to see her. In seconds, she finished up an objective and entered the central space of The Open Book. Her eyes instantly found a matching pair of her own and she approached him with ease.

“Hello to you too,” Bella greeted Landon with a smile formed on her lips. “Spill some tea? Have you been hanging around some Gen Z kids or something?” She questioned him, chuckling with slight judgment. Soon enough, the manager thought about some drama and told him with guilt-ridden eyes. “Yesterday, I ran into a woman while walking into The Burn, she dropped her phone, and her phone broke. Please tell me you’ve done that before, too, so I don’t feel even worse as is?”

yoga mat tucked tightly under her arm, fallon was living up to her name as she made out of the gym. hair tied back tightly, her leggings and workout top hugging her curves tightly, she moved as quick as lightning in a storm. her head  was down and her focus was solely on the message displayed on the phone on her hand. there weren’t many days that she had free time out of the office, even as the big boss, so when she did have that time it irritated her to no end that those who were in the office couldn’t handle things for even a few hours. although, in their defense, it was more that she was a control freak than them not being able to handle things.

pushing the gym door open, she placed her phone to her ear and listened to the dial tone as she attempted to contact her assistant. unfortunately for her, as well as her phone, not paying attention to where she was going led to her colliding with another. she felt her phone slip from between her fingers and the distinct shattering sound surrounded her. “you have got to be fucking kidding me,” she nearly snarled as she bent down to pick up her phone, assessing the very clear evidence of a broken phone, “could you perhaps pull your head out of your ass and watch where you’re going?” as if it wasn’t your own fault, fallon.

        Going to therapy was an excellent way for Isabella to release all her stress, but today called for a workout at The Burn. She was nothing close to a gym rat, and she enjoyed going for runs long on the treadmills. When she was younger, her bullies would call her weak, so she took up running to gain muscle. Having a slim body all her life meant gaining strength was tough to do, so now she runs to maintain her figure and to release built-up negative energy. Approaching the front door, the Irish woman tried her best to dodge the incoming traffic, but due to her luck, she ran into someone.

“O-Oh my god,” Bella stuttered in shock when she took in the aftermath of the collision. The woman was angry, her phone was clearly broken, and the bookworm’s heart sunk to her feet. “I’m so sorry! Are you okay? Is your screen broken, or can you not turn your phone on your phone anymore?” The words spit out of her mouth in fear and apparent regret. “I’m so sorry. I never meant for this to happen.”

Socializing and pretending to care about the bullshit lives of others around her was much easier once the petite brunette had a few drinks in her system. Cilla had never been much of a people person, instead always finding solace in her own company or the company of a select few individuals—namely her sister, her honorary big brother, and her crush best friend. Everyone else wouldn’t earn so much as a glance from the Swede whilst she was sober if she could help it; but given her line of work often called for mingling and the need to get on other’s good side, she knew she had to put on a mask and be a good little solider. 

Fortunately, tonight’s work led her to a bar; and at a bar, she could drink. Ordering her usual whiskey on the rocks, she all but downed the glass the second it was handed to her, slamming it down on the bar top a bit harder than intended as she felt the familiar comforting warmth begin to course through her body. “You look like you could use a drink.” She spoke up as someone came to occupy the stool beside her. They looked worn; and while she waited for her expected company to arrive, she figured she might as well try and play nice. “May I treat you?”

        A long day of dealing with inventory shipped to another bookstore in another state had Isabella's feet lead her toward the closest bar. On any other day, she'd go straight home after working hours on end, but tonight said otherwise. Terrified of sitting alone and getting picked on for it, the bookworm settled into an open stool at the bar and started to look over the drink and snacks menu. Unfortunately, her tired features caught her neighbor's attention. Looking up from the menu and landing her eyes on the other, she grinned at her comment. Her silence didn't do the trick, so when the question hit her ears, she politely nodded.

"Sure," Bella accepted the kind offer with her grin never leaving her lips. Her eyes darted back to the drink before looking at the woman once again. "I'll have a glass of the house white, please and thank you." Since she was doing something nice for her, she wanted to offer something to her too. "Would you like to share a plate of fries with me? They always seem to cheer me up after a long day."

Location: The Ivy (British restaurant and bar) in the early afternoon

Stacey ordered herself a glass of red wine at her third favorite lunch spot. She poured her wine rather violently into her glass, her lips pursed as if someone or something had pissed her off beforehand, though she expertly hadn’t spilled a drop before taking a sip and set the bottle back down on the table gently as if she was perfectly fine… she wasn’t. Someone did make the mistake of pissing her off before lunch.

Stacey looked up and saw someone gazing at her briefly. “What? Want some? It’s some good fucking wine.” She said with a smile to the person who’s gaze she had caught.

        Isabella wasn’t planning on ordering lunch to-go from The Ivy, but as soon as she forgot the premade food at home, the British bar and restaurant was the place to go. Thankfully, the dining establishment wasn’t far from The Open Book, so she walked to her destination in mind. Her plan was simple: walk in, order food to-go, wait patiently, get her food, and go back to work. At first, the plan was going swimmingly, but as soon as her eyes landed on Stacey, the scheme was put on hold.

        "Hi, Stacey,” Bella greeted Stacey in embarrassment when the blonde caught on to her leering gaze. The second she took in her question and believable statement, the younger Fox blushed lightly and averted her gaze elsewhere. “Oh, no, thank you. I’m just here waiting for my lunch, that’s all.” After the embarrassment drifted away, her dark hues landed on the other once again. “How are you doing?”
