I think I realise now what frustrates me the most about NRS handling of Kuai Liang in the last 2 games: he is kept in a little bubble and away from others. His only real relationship is Hanzo. They barely show him with Frost, they kick Smoke out of the picture and they don't have him interact with Noob Saibot, his own brother, properly. And he BARELY interacts with anyone outside of that circle. Sure, we get from the intros that he has a life outside of Hanzo (friendship with Jax and Special Forces, Kotal's his admirer, etc) and his ending shows he loves Bi-Han still...but is it that hard to implement these elements in the story? Is it that hard to show Kuai's other relationship? Is it that hard to show Kuai helped Jax in dealing with his trauma?

At this point, I'm SHOCKED they acknowledged his bond with Cyrax.

Kuai Liang is a multifaceted character. He has a big heart, he survived so much and came out stronger. But NRS treats him as less than a side-character.

And now it seems to be happening again in MK1. While Johnny, Kenshi, Raiden, Liu and Lao are on their merry adventures on Outworld, meeting and interacting with everyone (which is great and all), Kuai Liang and his brothers are now stuck invading a mansion. Once again, he's gonna held in a bubble, not interacting with others. I already predict his everything will be limited to his very obvious telegraphed beef with Bi-Han and their obligatory battle. And I have little hope for the Smoke relationship.

Kuai isn't gonna meet others or make new friends because NRS writers are unimaginative idiots. I bet they didn't even realise how many parallels there are between Kuai Liang and Kitana now. No, Kuai is just gonna stay in his owl circle. Again. Same will happen to Bi-Han and Tomas.

Way to treat your most popular characters, NRS.

I hope I'm wrong on this but...idk...I'm just so upset.
