where did the dailymotion videos go? I have no way to watch it now :(

I just looked at this (because honestly it freaked me out that the only thing that makes this blog run is these episodes) And I guess Dailymotion had recently put an age restriction on? I don't have a Dailymotion account (that would be admin Hope) and all I have to do is press a button that says something along the lines of turning the age restriction gate off. Maybe if your account is hooked up under the age of 18 (I don't know the actual age for these things) you can't view it? But as far as I can tell the episodes are still there. If you're having anymore problems please let me know!

I'd say there's a higher chance of there being an anime than there not being one! my personal bet would be on Spike Chunsoft focusing on localization releases first and foremost in order to better their profits before moving on to an anime release.

despite the fact that the original DR anime wasn't perfect, it did perform very well among the fanbase, actually, attracting a fair amount of new viewers and more people into the series. the localization release for the first DR sold fairly well in spite of all the fanmade translations/patches, and in the meantime, the sdr2 release and Another Episode teasers have been garnering even more attention from the fandom despite a large period of inactivity following the end of the anime's release.

I'd say given the tease at the end of the first anime (Monomi's appearance), Spike is shooting for an sdr2 anime and won't scrap it unless they absolutely have to. DR is a fairly profitable series for them still, so while there's no absolute guarantee, I don't think it's something to worry about just yet.

no, the next Dangan Ronpa is not out yet

however, the PS Vita release of Super Dangan Ronpa 2 is expected in the U.S. by September 2nd (September 5th for the European release)

I would expect more info on the sdr2 anime to come out shortly after the localization releases and possibly after the Japan release of Dangan Ronpa: Another Episode. once the hype for the games dies down, I think we’ll start getting anime teasers, info about the expected airing date, etc.!

Approx. how long does it take to sub a video?

sorry this ask has been unanswered for so long!

Mmm, it’s been so long since I had to sub one that I don’t remember the specifics, and it kind of varied depending on where I was and what else I had to do in the same day. For instance, trying to sub a video while going on a family road trip? That was a bad, bad idea.

I had to typically torrent the videos as soon as they came out, reformat them from .avi to .wmv for smaller file size purposes, and then hand-sub them myself in my video editing program. any unfamiliar phrases or words would then take some times to look up—anywhere from a few minutes to nearly an hour, in some cases. on top of that, rendering the video itself, plus uploading them to dailymotion (not counting the time to re-render and re-upload in higher quality after that)

so…about twelve to fourteen hours, typically? each time would vary, but I seem to remember on average starting around 12pm (Pacific time) and finishing around 12am. some attempts were shorter and some where longer; I did pull a lot of all-nighters!
