I wish I was here for something else.
So, it's official. I've had my WoL cloned!
I wasn't going to make anything public about this, but since you've chosen to run and deactivate for whatever reason, even though I told you that isn't what I wanted you to do. I am. I can't trust that you won't resurface and start doing this again. I'm sorry
A person who usually goes by arcanecircles, some one I was once friendly mutuals with, copied my WoL bit by bit, down to the hair and eye colors, even the glam and dyes, and fully admitted to doing so.
For starters, here are our original DMs from her first, now deactivated account. She deactivated not super long after this conversation took place.
This was back in 2023, several months ago now. I thought nothing of it at the time, I was so glad that someone was intrested in my WoL. You don't see an awful lot of face 3 fem middies and I was really happy my silly little bingus was bringing joy.
Fast forward to last night, I was asleep when this dm got to me so I didn't catch it until I woke up this morning
I recognized the name immediately. Imagine that, the person I'd talked to about my WoL's face, etc showing up with a character that looks just like her! Naturally, I'm quite perplexed by this and as I look closer, the character is exactly the same as my WoL
These are her pictures, and there's no doubt she copied, deliberately.
This is the reasonably amiable dm I send her. We all make mistakes and I didn't want to be an asshole about it. Like I said in the dm picture above, we're working with limited assets so it can happen, but it was obviously very deliberate on her part.
Here is just a small amount of the absolute torrent of what she replied with. I want to know, if this is/was a character you play sparingly, why did you label her as a main character on your now deleted post? If it's a "coincidence" that she shares the same eye and hair color as my WoL, why didn't you just make the same character with white hair and blue eyes, like you said is also a common trait amongst your female OCs? That would've been far less blatant.
She went on to reword her apology several times, and then there was this little number
Guilt trip threat to deactivate aside, I am also more of a raider than a gposer/RPer, (I don't even RP right now at all) hard to imagine, I know. But I am, and I would never dream of cloning someone's WoL. There is a lot to unpack just in this dm image alone. It starts to feel like less of an apology and more of an angry "I got caught back pedal." I tried very hard to be nice to her.
Pretty much all that followed after this was the same "I didn't mean to upset you" "I like you WoL's look" and various different ways of saying sorry, before she went through with the deactivation.

Well. This is basically the gist of it. This person clones people's OCs/WoLs and thinks it's okay because one person told her it was, and apparently someone did it to her and she found it funny. So this must be the case for everyone according to her.
If you hadn't run and deactivated, I wouldn't have had any compulsion to make this post. I was more than willing to forgive and forget, but I can't trust you won't do this to someone else now. So, I will make sure people know about you. I don't like eff eff foorteen disk horse, and didn't want to be mean or nasty, I tried not to be. But here we are.
