     There's something about Jigen's words that seem to snap him from his thoughts.

     It was almost laughable, really. Jigen was there - they all were - when Hawk had grabbed his sword out of the air as if it was merely a toy. The wound along his collar bone still stung, as fresh as the memory that plagued him.

     " How can I not? " replies the samurai, quietly. His voice wavers uncertainly; he'd been bested in combat, and tossed aside like an old doll. How could he not think about that? How could he not think about how to finally settle the score with the bastard that beat him?

     Goemon wasn't someone who resorted to petty insults or violence unless there was no other option. The sharpshooter should be more than aware of that; still, the fact that his companion is even telling him this feels like a slap to the face.
