This is so cool, I can’t imagine some many details can be packed on one single Photoshop action.

"I really wish Aunt Cass was Japanese. I guess her being white establishes Hiro and Tadashi’s biracial-ness, but… it just seems cheap to me that their one living relative has to be white"
How’s it cheap? If their white their cheap? Anything but white right -_-.
#pisses me off #im white #would a movie about me be cheap?
This is my confession, and it seems like what you think I meant is that being white is inherently bad. It’s not- I’m white myself. There’s nothing necessarily wrong with a movie starring white characters or having white characters in it. But since only 15% of Disney movies have leading characters of color… What’s cheap is the fact that Disney had the chance to portray a Japanese woman, but instead they made her white (not to mention they reused the same face model as Rapunzel, like they did with Anna, Elsa, and Honey Lemon).
It’s especially cheap (for lack of a better term) considering that Hiro was originally 100% Japanese in the comics, and Disney made him half white. (Yeah, he’s biracial now, but it’s still whitewashing.) Of course Hiro and Tadashi’s one parental figure has to be white.
btw, here’s a helpful link on racial representation- it explains why we need more characters of color through a metaphor of chocolate raisins. yum
I love it when white people call out other white people’s bullshit. Makes me so happy.

The author of Hunger Games explained Katniss in a difficult way. How did y'all they were supposed to find a Native American actress with olive skin, naturally straight black hair and grey eyes. Please give me a link to one and I'll shut up forever.
There’s plenty of lists with Native American actresses you can google yourself.
Gray eyes aren’t a white only trait, nor is Jennifer Lawrence a gray eyed gal. So please do shut up forever.

So...I wanted to address your post on Lucy as orientalist, but I couldn't find the repost button for some reason. I came upon the post through a google search, because I had a feeling that other people would find some parts of the movie problematic.
I wanted to focus on the representation of Asian men and how Lucy's roommate mentions that she met a cute guy in China, "not asian," is what she emphasizes. That was actually really bothersome to me. Can anyone guess why?
