Dating Billy Lenz headcanon

This is probably going to be a controversial take, but Billy would definitely be at least demisexual, if not asexual. The hypersexuality he exhibits on the phone calls is a trauma response. He sees sex as dirty, humiliating, degrading. Those phone calls are threats. He would never want you to be subjected to such a thing, and wouldn't be happy if you suggested it either. It would just reinforce that idea that all he's good for is his body. Dirty, nasty Billy.

But by that same merit, he would absolutely melt over nonsexual intimacy. Lots of kissing, lots of cuddles, would probably cry with joy if you got him gifts, even if it was something simple. Just show him you love him for who he really is (even if "who he really is" is a cat-whisperer freak weirdo who hoards antiques and can perfectly mimic any sound on earth)

I think its good people take the space of fandom to interpret a character how they prefer, stretching the canon, theres nothing bad in coping like this or just indulging yourself. I appreciate the version of Billy Lenz and the related content usually put out .

But I always thought of him as not being able to engage sexually in a clear state of mind: aside from his episodes, I think even in a somewhat stable period he'd go though stress, flashbacks and struggle with it. (I'm projecting)

And id like to see an interpretation of him that is treated more softly, characterised as sexually repulsed and just very traumatised and vulnerable. The fluff potential is insane.

I admit I was projecting too when i wrote it, ha. I definitely saw parallels in our trauma responses. In a way, I'm glad to hear you projected on him too! Means I'm not crazy, and/or I did a good job of putting my thoughts into words, so much so that it was relatable.

He admires people who are passionate. Since the accident, he really hasn't had any meaningful conversations with anyone. He's used to being alone, cut off from the rest of the world. But for that reason, he LOVES a partner who rambles. He just likes to listen most of the time, but the subject of your one-sided conversation can be absolutely anything. He'll memorize every word.

Socially awkward and anxious? Not a problem. Just stay home* with him (*whether you managed to convince him to live in an actual home with you, or if you both stay in the mines)! Also, the mining getup is great for anonymity in Valentine Bluffs. It's how he can kill pretty freely after all. He'll find a mask and jumpsuit that fit you like a glove! ...Of course, you probably will need to explain that going to the grocery store in a gas mask is only gonna make your anxiety worse, but he means well. Plus, he'll probably think it's cute that you guys are wearing identical outfits, the same way other couples have matching sweaters.

Nubbins Sawyer:

Passionate, you say? Wouldn't you know it, so's he! Let's hope you're not squeamish, though; he knows the butchering industry inside and out. On the bright side, if you really were grossed out / upset by what he was telling you, he does know a lot of other cool stuff to ramble about instead, mostly about the local fauna he deals with on his travels. Did you know that it's nearly impossible for an opossom to have rabies, or that some lizards will drop their tails and regrow them if they feel threatened? You might've, but now he knows you know.

Also, similar to Harry, he'd love to listen to you talk about the things you like too! He's happy to have someone else who gets excited about things like he does. Even if it's a subject he knows nothing about, he'll try his best to follow along, ask questions, etc. Will find a vinyl record in a shop and eagerly bring it to you because it's that band you mentioned you liked that one time.

You're a people-pleaser? Not a problem, because Nubbins sure as hell isn't. Insert that "excuse me he asked for no pickles" meme here. You certainly won't get walked all over when Nubbins is around.

He's very eager to bring you on his adventures with him. And if you were having a day where you didn't want to interact with anyone, he'd forego the hitchhiking part for you. Just the two of you, walking along the shoulder of an old, dusty road. It's a weirdly wholesome date. He's just happy you're with him.
