>> CHARLIE “DRAGONFLY” COOPER BODYCAM.
- 27/05/____
The transport from the site to the designated spot took 2 hours.
“We’ll be going over the plan one more time.”, Captain Archer said once they all left the vehicles.
“____, _______, _____ and _____ will be with me. The rest will be with Dragonfly. For easier communication each team will get a temporary name. Team Tau with me, team Rho with Casper, copy?” Everyone confirmed.
“Rho will be entering from the south side of the warehouse, ground floor. Don’t cause any noise and beware of any potential traps. None of our enemies are to be underestimated, not even those who we have not identified yet, even if this is a false alarm.”, Frost continued, “Tau will be coming in from the north side. We’ll be entering through the first floor window and we must be careful of making as little noise as possible while opening our entrance point.”
Frost then looked over the whole team once more, looking for any potential questions or objections to the plan. None came.
He pulled down his goggles and faced over to where the building was, a short walk from where they currently are.
“Everyone ready? Let’s get going. Rho, we’ll meet in the middle. Godspeed.” Tau left shortly after.
Rho, with the lead of Lieutenant Casper, went towards the warehouse, doing a half-circle to get to the southern entrance. They approached the building and kept as low of a profile as possible. Guns positioned right in front of them, Casper cracked the door of the warehouse, just enough to see in.
Several moments passed before he signaled to them to enter.
The room they entered was huge. Two-stories tall ceiling. The main storage and unloading area of the warehouse. There were a couple stacks of old plywood boxes that seemed to barely keep their shapes anymore. Many were starting to rot or were already rotten.
The place was quiet, oddly quiet. The type of silence that encouraged goosebumps to rise. Something felt wrong, strange. Dragonfly kept looking around. She looked over at Casper, who had the same look in his eyes: ‘something doesn’t sit right’.
The space was empty of any life, but not in a way a completely abandoned space would’ve been.
“Report.” Archer spoke in the comms.
“Negative, sir.” Casper answered.
Several minutes passed by as team Rho made their way to the ground floor to regroup with Tau; no enemies were found. They checked over the office area of the building, both the first and ground floor once they descended.
“Nothing up in the lofts nor the ground rooms.” - Captain Archer started.
“Nothing here either.” - Casper said.
Archer started talking into the radio, “Overwatch, it’s a fluke. Will begin exfi-” BANG
An operative standing next to the Captain was shot. Dead on the spot.
Everyone hurriedly pointed their weapons in different directions.
Cooper whipped around and up, roughly from where the shot came from.
BANG
Someone fell to the ground from one of the ceiling beams. THUD
“THEY’RE IN THE BEAMS” Someone yelled.
Dragonfly was breathing heavily as she was moving her rifle side to side and dropping a hostile or two.
The hostiles were dropping one by one, but so were the operatives.
Somebody came from the side. Dragonfly engaged in close quarters combat.
“UGH-” Dragonfly grunted as the blade in the hostile’s hand made contact with her face.
She recovered quickly and blocked the second attack from hitting her. An exchange of blows happened before she managed to down the enemy and place a shot through their head.
“WATCH OUT-” Archer yelled out, but before she could even act she was pushed from where she was standing. BANG
Blood partially covered the camera.
Captain Archer slumped to the ground gracelessly.
A hole straight through the helmet.
Straight through his head.
Dragonfly on instinct whipped her rifle up and shot till the hostile fell.
Everything went quiet after.
The sound of Dragonfly’s breathing was audible. Quick, short breaths.
She was then moved around. Casper in front of her.
He took her helmet off and threw it away to the side.
“Dragonfly- look at me- look.”
“Breathe in- yes, like that - then out.”
“Good, good..”
“Send medical ASAP”, He spoke into the radio.
“Cooper, Cooper you stay with me- alright?”
He remained there with her till the medical team arrived shortly.
