I donât know if it is only me who didnât know that Punks and Rockers were two different subgroups. You learn something new everyday. The leather studded jackets worn by bought groups. Yet not the same.

The mods, as you can see on the pictures, they look they look the part and the way I tried to discribe them as. Neat, clean hair and I quote âThe mods enabled the style they wear and invented it, that made them consult smoothly, whether it been among work, school and leisureâ and they do.

Liverpool and itâs people enjoying the sunny day as you should. The first couple were lovely and gave me their permission to photograph them for my blogpost. Normal day... normal people.

Meanwhile waiting for the bus I spotted a man wearing the brogues and I was surprised that he wasnât a skinhead, a lot of older men these day were them to work.

The elite group had to be someone in charge someone high up, the government, our prime minister Theresa May.

On these images you see two different boys, both styled like post-punk skinheads inspired by the movement in England during the 80s.
Expression through clothing
Populism is a political approach to use the power of ânormalâ people as they feel as though that they are being neglected and ignored by established and elite groups that have a greater impact in the society. In todayâs day and age populism is not a big deal anymore because us ânormalâ people are not neglected when it comes to having impacts in our economy. The UK is democratic country therefore we are consulted in a sense when elite groups (leaders) are making decisions.
These ordinary people are divided among subcultures. Subcultures are suggestive structure and stereotype of youth groups. They are part of popular culture, this is where they believe that culture is based on the taste and trends of ânormalâ people and not the elite groups. I agree with the idea of popular culture, as the concept is defined through the taste and trends of the members of the society. Although the normal people have been neglected by the elite groups, they should not do the same an should allow them to also have a impute when it comes to creating a subculture and expressing yourself.
Subcultures such as the Mods, who tend to wear traditional garments and have neat low-cut hair. They preferred to uphold the look their style of an impeccable âFrench crew.The mods enabled the style they wear and invented it, that made them consult smoothly, whether it been among work, school and leisure
Another subcultural group were the Rockers, these were known to wear immaculate casual gear, wrap around shades and the rockers were in leather jackets usually black, decorated with lots of metal studs and painted insignias (mostly done by hand) and their âwinkle pickersâ (a type of boots with a pointy toe) sharp as a knife.
The Skinheads were also a known subcultural group. this group of individuals were known for their outstanding haircut and style. The skinheads were known for steel-toe capped boots, short bleached jeans and collarless shirts and in the evening; suits and well-polished brogues.
Culture has changed over time and is still developing. Culture defines itself through the ideas, behaviours and habits of a particular group or society. Culture allows us to express ourselves, share knowledge and develop ideas and pass it on through to further generations. Fashion is a way of expression our self and communication. Throughout this blog I have talked about subcultures who have identified themselves through the way they dress. The way you dress can immediately give off a first impression, which is why subgroups like the Rockers got a lot of negative looks and feedback as they are seen as a rough, harsh and expressive group of young people. Also, groups such as the Mods gave another perspective and impression as they are dressed in a smart and clean sense therefore were more respected than others such as the Skinheads. Although the skinheads look like âcool rude boysâ through their appearance, they did not behave in such manner. Personally, I believe that appearance has a great impact on how you will be viewed, which is why a lot of people are subconscious about their looks these days. But you should always feel good about yourself.
Todays topic is populist model, here Iâm going to talk about the three different subsections: populism, subculture and culture in fashion. I will show you different ranges of subcultural groups within the fashion community. Fashion is always the way a individual expressed their selves.

My name is Zoey Asemota, I am 20 years old and study Fashion Design at Liverpool John Moores University.
Little bit of my background... I was born in Holland, Rotterdam but was raised in Belgium where I moved around a lot. I moved to Liverpool 4 years ago with my mum and two sisters for academic purposes, as my mother believed that the UK would give me a greater opportunity, help me pursue my dreams and develop my English skills. I wasn't sure what to think of Liverpool at first as it was such a big change for me, but now I love Liverpool and really appreciate my family for moving with me.
