I saw a few people wondering how you can block an anon. Here I will explain how:
Step one: donāt type anything! The moment you start answering, the function to block disappears.
It looks like this before you start answering:
You see two times 3 dots. Click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner. Donāt answer first, just click on those dots immediately, please!
It shows the option in my own language but you get two options here: report and block. If you can do both, do both!
Because itās anon the function will block their IP-address. This means they canāt contact you in any ways, not even incognito.
Consider doing this instead of answering them. Those nasty anons just want attention and answering them means giving them a podium. Without attention there is no fun for them and they will stop.

Hey yeah, for the record, it used to be that if you blocked an anon their ACTUAL account would show up in your blocked list. Anyone wanna check if thatās still possible because man that was an awesome feature and BOI do I have words to exchange with those people.
About a year ago, I started an ItaSaku Discord with some other writersāto create a fun community for ItaSaku fans, to bring content creators and consumers closer together and to reinvigorate our fandom.
Unfortunately, some people decided they wanted to wreck that community and we decided to close down the server. But, as months went by, I kept on getting messages from people who wouldāve loved to join, people who missed the server and people who would like to have an ItaSaku community.
So weāre back baby!

Why I believe Sakuraās parents could be from Suna:
First case of business: Haruno Mebuki:
Donāt tell me she and Temari donāt have the same coloring. Temari is just more blond, while Mebuki is leaning into the brown blond. Even their eye colors are both green.
Ā Second Haruno Kizashi:
Ā He and Rasa (Gaaraās dad) also have the same coloring, just different shades.
And donāt tell me Kizashi doesnāt stand out from the other leaf shinobis. Maybe Ibiki has the a skin color close to his.
Ā Third, Sakura:
Her and Gaaraās coloring is very similar, she is just pink and brighter green, while Garaās hair is red with an eye color of teal. Both of them wear red often too.Ā
I mean, the signs were there, Kishi could have made Sakuraās backstory much more interesting, coming from Suna, and maybe she could have had a memory with Gaaraā¦
Also, Sakuraās element is water, I always found that kinda interesting, since they live in the land of fire, total oppositeā¦
And as a side, now both of them have something in their foreheads.šš

One thing I admire about your stories the most is your characterization, specifically for Itachi. He's sensitive, he's thoughtful, he's a fucking dream. If this isn't too vague of an ask, can you walk us through the process of how you translated his canon characterization over to the genre of romance? I'm especially enamored with the sense of restraint that's always present whenever Itachi is in a scene.

Regarding your question: OOF.
I think that the answer to that question is basically a two-parter, namely:
What is Uchiha Itachi like in canon
How do I mold him for romantic settings.
Iām going to have to beg your pardon here while I rant about Uchiha Itachi and hope youāll get a satisfactory answer by the end of it. (Sorry in advance)
1. What is Uchiha Itachi like in canon?
So, I think we can all agree that Itachi is a complex character, but one that has had a massive 180 in canon. We went from believing him to be this cold-hearted killer who massacred his entire family to āmeasure his containerā and set his younger brother up fo a lifetime filled of hatred and revenge because Sasuke would be the only one capable of beating him, to finding out Itachi is actually a very self-sacrificing human being who adored his little brother above all and valued his life more than his own (or that of his clan). In addition, heās peace-loving and shown to be a thoughtful and intelligent human being with an incredible sweet tooth (the episode in which he eats dango with Izumi comes to mind)
LOOK AT THAT FACE
Right. So from there we know that for all his faults (and heās got a LOT of them, who the heck decides to murder his own clan at age 13 to save his baby brother and not do a sensible thing like go to the Third? Oh right, Hiruzen is the worst. Or setting up his brother for a vengeance quest that nearly destroys him because he wants to die at his brotherās hands for what heās done and ensure Sasuke gets Mangekyou. But by the time heās revived and learns what has happened, Itachi acknowledges that he was wrong and that he could and should have done better, even going as far as doing a TalknoJutsu on mister TalkNoJutsu himself, Uzumaki Naruto, for thinking Naruto had to go at it by himself.
Now I know a lot of people see fault within Itachi and yes, he could have handled a lot of things better, but he was a kid put into a seriously bad situation and with it, he did the best he could. That doesnāt take away from the fact that Itachi, at any given time, whether it was as a 5 year old kid, or a 12 year old ANBU, or a 16 year old ANBU or a 21-year old revived corpse ugh my heart, is a soft-spoken, intelligent, self-sacrificing, caring and loving pacifist.
Right. So onto part two of my TedItachitalk
2. How do I mold him for romantic settings.
Iāve basically written three sorts of Itachis.Depending on the setting and the universe, theyāre a variety of one-another, but it all leads back to the headcanons I have and what I feel is true for his characters--and this may divert wildly amongst ItaSaku authors.
Pre-reveal Itachi (in my works, this is the Metamorphosis trilogy, Memento, Twilight)
Post-massacre Itachi (in my works, this is Uncle, Labyrinthine, Equinox)
Non-massacre Itachi (in my works this is Otherworld, Desideratum and Epiphany)
Pre-reveal Itachi:
Honestly, your question probably didnāt encompass this one, especially because basically nobody writes pre-reveal Itachi anymore (wait for it, Iām bringing him back, dammit). Basically Itachi before Shippuuden happens. Iām a firm believer that nobody is bad to the core okay Danzou youāre the exception, burn bitch and that what makes for an interesting villain is their motives and backstory. For Itachi, even before Shippuuden happened, there were scenes we were shown in which Itachi was portrayed to be a thoughtful and caring older brother who was slowly but surely going off the rails because of whatever was happening in the Uchiha clan.
For me, writing him pre-reveal, this means that even if I write him to be a cold assassin who beat up his younger brother, I also saw the side of him that avoided unnecessary conflict and was able to be caring. In writing that turned out to be an Itachi who would never confess his feelings, always be on his guard, always be ready for betrayal -- because he had been the betrayer. But with little tidbits that show he cares; letting someone live, allowing someone to escape, affection beyond a quick fuck and go.
Post-massacre Itachi
Ah. My favorite. I know a lot of people prefer non-mass and I love it for different reasons, but I feel the massacre has such a profound impact on Itachi (and by extension Sasuke, who is mostly if not always present when I write itaSaku). These two individuals were shaped and traumatized by what happened and in a non-mass universe, they would be completely different from who they are now. Iām a sucker for tragedy, what can I say? Thereās just a lot of pain here, okay.
For me, post-massacre Itachi is king in terms of, what you described earlier, in restraint. Heās committed the massacre, whether Sasuke knows or not, and while still being the individual he was, it had left scars. Post-massacre is the kind of guy who would sacrifice everything for Sasuke and to ensure his happiness and love just isnāt in the cards for him. So when it does happen, I headcanon for him to be holding back. How is he supposed to ever give himself 100% to another human when he hides the fact that he killed his family? How is he supposed to care for someone again after losing everyone except his brother like that? How can you be truthful and honest to another person when every day you live is a lie?
But heās also only human.
So my standard headcanon for him is to not want it, even if he desperately craves the connection. For him to run away or push the other person away because itās easier to live by himself. But at the same time, he craves that connection, to be loved by someone other than his brother and to be a part of a family again. Itās easy for him to be thoughtful, sensitive and a dream because that is who he canonically is. But to deepen out that character, I always think about how he would be if he had to balance this incredible secret from everyone. For me, Post-Mass Itachi indulges or craves what is offered but can never truly feel free in it until the secret is out.
Non-massacre Itachi
Hereās where you just go hog-wild. If for whatever reason, the massacre didnāt happen, how would Itachi have turned out? For me, he would still be the same as in the previous two examples, but with less restraint, free to be himself and you can go anywhere with this. Headcanoning Shisui to be an enormous flirt and Itachi goes along with it? SURE. Itachi is a shy introvert that turns out to be a maniac in the sheets? Everyone is down with that. He can break with his clan or be the patriarch or live in a completely different universe and each and every of these events mold him. This is where I personally keep holding on to who he is in the basis--intelligent, caring, thoughtful, but take more liberties with how he would be and act because there is no telling how he would develop if the massacre didnāt happen.
In short: Uchiha Itachi is great to both write and read about and thereās a lot of flexibility in how you write him and how to characterize him and omg Iām sorry this is now a novella. I hope this answers your question murder-chan. ā¤ļø
