I draw/paint too, lately I've been having a lot of fun drawing the characters from Jujutsu Kaisen cause i love them hehe
I've thought about publishing my work several times in the past, but I'm very embarrassed (I'm also a perfectionist. I never feel confident enough with my artworks). So I never did it. But now, after finishing high school a few months ago (I was attending an art high school) and probably taking a university path kinda different from the artistic one, I feel like I'm abandoning my artist version, if I may say so. I thought that a social media profile where I publish my works could help in this sense, creating a sort of "artist identity" (I know that it shouldn't be the only role of the profile obviously!! Always in a wise and healthy way) but I would be afraid of getting stressed, people seeing my works, or maybe no one will see it because it will just be a failure lol. Also, I draw traditionally and not having high-quality cameras makes artworks look even worse lol
Do you have any tips for publishing your art online? I should try? Should I do absolutely nothing because it would be wiser for me not to?

i think your drive behind wanting to post art is lovely, and i absolutely recommend it! when i first started this account, i used to only do full heavy realism, like on my main. but i took the opportunity to start from scratch, and try some different styles! in a different genre! and it was incredible! the algorithms can be unforgivable sometimes, but once you find your niche community it’s so worth it. we don’t do it for the views, we do it because it’s our artistic expression! we’re artists!!!
especially as a trad artist, don’t sweat it at all! good lighting and sometimes editing for contrast is all you need to take a pic and post! i used to do that, too!
i’d recommend trying a couple different apps, like tumblr/insta/TikTok and start posting! see how it makes you feel! the sites might push you to post more but take it all at your own pace! tag your work & be active in your niche! soon you’ll cultivate a lovely little window of the world to post and see art, and it’s like seeing life through rose colored glasses.
it’s okay to be a perfectionist with your work, but don’t let it stop you from making & posting your pieces! i also am incredibly pessimistic about my work sometimes and a lot of the pieces that i didn’t like & still posted, got some of the best feedback! it’s kinda scary, stepping into the unknown, but SO invigorating. post your art! it’s an extension of you, and thus another step towards who you’re becoming!
you know that feeling when it’s like. like the part of the morning right before the sun is about to rise, and you wake up from a really good dream but you’re still sleepy so you lay back down and you’re staring out the window at the first tiny flecks of orange in the sky as you drift back off

i literally sat up in bed seeing just the start of your ask, and seeing the whole thing i’m like flabbergasted. this is genuinely the sweetest thing anyone’s ever said to me about my art 😭 that is such a lovely feeling and the fact that you make that connection to my work makes me feel so incredibly loved and appreciated
