kwon jiyong is not well known for his patience but he is well known. summer weather is a treat but pros and cons are abound; jiyong’s tattoos an easy billboard for attention, grabbing them only a few seconds before ducking into some obscure shop seemingly dipped in moth balls and mildew. he sniffs, fingers itching for a cigarette to release the sudden shot of stress which reaches the back of his throat. 

“i didn’t really think it through..” an apologetic tone of voice, the brim of bucket hat brought down over eyes as he shuffles through the store, away from the windows. “didn’t think everyone would be so hyped about me with everyone else at the building today. aish. too big of a crowd-- or were those your fans mixed in there too?” one half-hearted attempt at a joke. the stress and frustrations of a busy week have made bed in the bags under his eyes, coating the slight hoarseness of his voice. 

“let’s hope they pass by us soon, yeona-yah. i was really looking forward to going street shoppin’ with ya. you can get such cool finds at this time of year, aigo. plus, walking around the city like this is great inspiration.. .. until shit like this happens, heh.”

is this what you meant by pasta massacre? either you die by the pasta, or live by it, hm. aish, it seems like.. .. a really strange, bloated way to live. also, with the pasta, how are you meant to properly live? you can’t just eat the same sorta pasta each day, right? kinda comes off.. boring.bad decisions being made here. i’ma start worrying for your future real soon.

thanks, noona. some people were really tryna keep me from doing the whole usb trick but i think it’s the new way of music.at least, it’s the future. some people just don’t focus on the records or cd albums anymore so it’s a bit of a jump.. .. though, i believe, a safe one.keeping paint on them is tricky, as well. i hope fans ain’t too angry about it but we did put the fine print to warn ‘em.ah~ it seems like it wasn’t too long ago that we were chatting up in the backstage, getting ready for our performances.. .. lemme tell ya’, sometimes i still throw in a lil dance when i hear ‘abracadabra’. that song is one for the ages, noona.

hm, i think either you can find someone to help you get there or else find a way to get there yourself? i wonder which would feel more rewarding.. ..i don’t want my happiness dependent on whether someone is around or not.i’ve been in that type of place it never really ends well; dependence can be an ugly side-effect if you’re not too careful, heh. but now, i really do wanna take a personal spa day. i’ve actually yet to try one of them bath bombs but they seem pretty spectacular.

how they got to this situation is explained, easily, by the sight before the two. emptied soju bottles and his rationed cigarettes laying about the ashtray, surrounded by half-eaten servings of takeout, containers sitting out in the open. one could only look at the table and know, instantly. it’s good music and soothing laughter, inside jokes built up between years of experience of industry and business. voice coupled to hers in slurred encouragement, now and then split by a cough over laughter. he’s all gums, bloodshot eyes, and muscle aches.

“ah fuck, ah–!” skinny legs tumble over themselves, nearly bringing himself down to the floor where a small mountain of candy wrappers accumulate. “shit– is that really what your impression of me is? my own of you wasn’t that bad, was it.. .. ..?!” steady now, he sits up against the couch with a goofy smile. “do.. .. say it like seungriyah now.”
