Rich Snippets : what is It ?
Everyday Google has something new for their users (once in a week or month J ). Today we’ll discuss on Snippets. Now there are many who want to know what really it is? Well let’s start talking about Snippets:
Snippets—the few lines of text that appear under every search result—are designed to give users a sense for what’s on the page and why it’s relevant to their query: Google Webmaster
If your website content is understandable by Google, Google can create rich snippets—detailed information intended to help users with specific queries. Let’s take an example; the snippet for an e-market might show the average review of a product; the snippet for a recipe page might show the total preparation time, a photo, and the recipe’s review rating; These rich snippets help users recognize when a site is relevant to their search, and may result in more clicks to a web-pages.
Steps to rich snippets:
1. Pick a markup format. A user can use any of in the three micro formats but Google suggest to use microdata, (three formats below are acceptable). No need any prior knowledge of these formats, just a basic knowledge of HTML would be great to have it working at a website.

2. Mark up your content.
Google supports rich snippets for following content types:
Reviews
People
Products
Businesses and organizations
Recipes
Events
Music
3. Test your markup.

Note: Google is not bound to show the snippets in every result. It will appear only when the quarry occurs accordingly their norms, It also doesn’t help in the ranking but it helps to generate genuine data for users, It is a step towards healthy results
