I heard someone on YouTube talk about a girl he wished he had asked out. Well I have been thinking, and there is a time I honestly regret not asking a guy's number.
I live in WV and one day about 2017?? I was speeding to get to my friends house so I could use her wifi and take an online exam (I was in college, so 19ish). I am pretty short 4'11ish with brown hair I think in a ponytail. I was driving my grandmother's car (bigger than the car I drive normally). And I went down a hill too fast to take the left turn at the bottom, and I went off the road. I ruined up the front tire but I got the car back on the road long enough to pull over.
I was really lucky to have had the accident where I did. The passenger's tire was trashed, but I didnt hit anyone and there was a HUGE area to pull over just a little bit ahead of me. On the other side of the road there as a warehouse of some sort I cant remember the name though.
A guy in a work truck (a light colored, dirty, pickup with different tools in the back. Stickers and tags for some company. Maybe a ladder or something in the bed) drove past me and pulled off a polite distance away.
It was such a common sight and I was happy because that ment someone could help me with changing the tire. In the back of my head I was a little nervous, I dont trust random people, but he just looked like any other blue collar guy and I knew there were other people within yelling distance.
The driver was white, thin, and young. I think wearing a hat. I would guess he was about 18 since he was obviously working, but around here he could have been in high school still idk. He was incredibly polite and calm (and cute. But I was Panicking).
So there I was, full of adrenaline and absolutely devastated. I was gonna be late for the exam, I had to call my friend, I had to call my mom (who I was supposed to pick up from a doctor's appointment after the exam). I was just not having a great moment, but I was trying to not cry.
So the guy went to try and get the spare tire out of the trunk, but a lot of my tubs with college stuff was packed in it and he couldn't lift the floor.
He said we would have to take out some of the tubs, but I just went "no." And used the panic strength to SHOVE the floor up and jerk out the tire. There was not a CHANCE in hell I was going to waste time moving those tubs. I remember hearing the guy say "oh okay." In retrospect it was super funny, but in the moment I was so embarrassed.
After I sat the spare tire down I just let him take the lead with everything because I realized the guy helping me was very cute.
It never crossed my mind to give him my number. I was so full of stress I dont even remember his name. After we tried to get the car up with the jack, it wouldnt work. And around that time a man from the warehouse walked out to check on us.
He was older, but also very helpful and he got us a bigger jack and maybe another worker, I dont remember. They all just fixed up the spare tire for me.
I was honestly so blessed, everyone was super polite and I was able to let them do the work while I called my friend and started a draft of the email I was going to send my professor.
I thanked everyone profusely, and then the real miracle happened. I sent the email once I had the wifi and then the professor didnt respond. But then the whole class got an email from the prof explaining that something went wrong with the software, so no one was able to log into the test. So it got rescheduled and everything worked out great. The End.
So yeah if you were a guy working in WV around 2017 and watched a blue car run off the road. Pulled over to check on the driver, who turned out to be a short brunette. Then you tried to get out the spare tire, but the trunk was full of tubs and bins. Then watched the girl turn into the Hulk to get out said spare tire. And it was beside a warehouse of some sort and the workers helped get the tires changed. The girl was me! Hit me up lmao.
