Today's the day!!!
First Quidditch practice of the year today! Come meet the players and learn the rules, or just catch up with the rest of the team.
We'll be meeting on the Fitness Quad at 2 PM. Bring comfortable clothes and water!

Name: Madison
Year/ Major: Junior/ Physics BS, Mathematics & Honors Minor
Position: Seeker, President (Spring)
Jersey: Khaleesi #3
Story: The way I joined the team was really funny. I had just gotten on campus and was scared out of my wits trying to make friends. I was at this barbecue function the school had put on for us and I noticed that this guy had a broom sticking out of his backpack. I decided to try and take a picture since it was so cool to see this big, burly, badass guy with a broom, and as my luck would have it, he turned just as I snapped the picture. He then came over and asked to see the picture, to my great surprise. Upon his approval, I put it on instagram as he invited me to practice the next day. I fell in love with the team then and there. Erik and I still play together.

Story: Competing in the Northeastern Regionals is my favorite Quidditch memory of this past year. Aside from the competition, it was a great opportunity to meet people and I got to watch some excellent matches. What I liked most about that weekend was how we as teammates bonded, We truly looked out for each other both on and off the pitch and it made me so much more grateful to be a part of the team.

Story: I played in ICQT's first ever meet, played against Cornell in 2011. We beat them 2 games to 1, and they didn't ask us to play again for three years.

Year/ Major: Junior/ Business Administration
Position: Chaser

Story: Sven is entering his third at IC and plans to continue his passion for playing Quidditch. This titan of a man standing at 6'4" enjoys playing a physical game and does his best to use his size, weight, and heart to dominate opposition chasers. His favorite Quidditch moment came at the Brotherly Love Cup in Philadelphia when our seeker made a game winning snitch catch to put the Hex up 10 to win the match. He is looking forward to the upcoming semester and meeting all the new teammates that come with it.

Story: The biggest memory is the semester I made that awesome documentary about the team. I brought cameras to almost every practice and game. At one practice, I had a GoPro attached to my head to record practice. Though the footage wasn't used in the film, it was hilarious to watch. The game could only end when one of the teams scored. This took longer than expected and I played the entire game. My funny comments and exhausted remarks were just hilarious. Besides that game, it was great to capture the team in the documentary. Especially how we are all a big family!

Story: In freshman year, I was fighting with another beater for bludger control. We slipped, fell in the mud, and wrestled. It was my first real match and I was trying to prove myself. Well it turned out we should have looked left. Another bludger had rolled over right next to us. So we were muddy for nothing. I got the ball though.

Hello, Everyone!
We've come to the end of another quidditch season, which means that it's time to hold elections for next year's E-Board and coaching staff.
We will be holding elections for the following positions for next season:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
Head Coach Assistant Coach
Position Captains

As of today, April 21st, the nomination period is open.
Nominations can be done anonymously through the survey emailed to all team members. (for security purposes we can't post the link to tumblr/twitter) If you do not see the email in your inbox or cannot access the team facebook post, please send an email to [email protected] requesting the survey link.
The nomination period will close at 23:00 on Thursday, April 24th.
A list of the nominees will then be published from this email, and also posted to the team social media pages Nominees who wish to campaign for their positions may then submit campaign materials (written statements and/or links to videos) to the team email for publication. All campaign materials will be published no later than 11:00 pm on the day that they are received.
The election period will open at 11:00 pm on Wednesday, April 30th, and will conclude on11:00 pm on Friday, May 2nd. The winners will then be announced on Saturday, May 3rd.

It's Valentines Day!
But More importantly it's 24 hours before Tournament Day
So here's what you should all remember

We will be inside, so my winter weather fashion advisory will wait for next week. just dress appropriately for the game and the outside cold.
IF YOU WANT ONTO THE ROSTER:
We will have a last practice at 17:30 today in the fitness center. If you were not on the initial roster, here is your chance to snap up the free spots. We have quite a few open spaces in cars, but you'll only get them if you show up.
Finally: gas money for your drivers. You should bring it with you tomorrow morning. Prepare to bring around 10 - 15 dollars. All our drivers are incredibly wonderful to drive us all over the place so that we can compete and we owe it to them to hold up our end of the bargain in regard to gas money.
