hey remember when jane austen, a woman, referred to a character named richard as having “never done anything to entitle himself to more than the abbreviation of his name” in 1817. yeah me too.
that time andy samberg was a complete savage re: the guys choice awards
Honestly Andy Samberg is such a treasure.
if this isn’t art, then i don’t know what it is
“A long-term study of children raised by lesbians found that these children were less likely to suffer from physical and sexual abuse than were their peers who were raised by heterosexuals. This is thought to be due to the absence of adult heterosexual men in the households (Gartrell, Bos, & Goldberg, 2010). Girls raised by lesbians tend to have higher self-esteem, show more maturity and tolerance than their peers, and are older when they have their first heterosexual contact (Gartrell et al., 2005, 2010). Children raised by same-sex parents seem to be less constrained by traditional gender roles; boys are less aggressive, and girls are more inclined to consider nontraditional careers, such as doctor, lawyer, or engineer (Gartrell et al., 2005; Stacey & Biblarz, 2001). Over the course of more than 20 years, scientists studied the psychological adjustment of 78 teenagers who were raised by lesbian mothers. Compared to age-matched counterparts raised by heterosexual parents, these adolescents were rated higher in social, academic, and total competence, and lower in social problems, rule-breaking, aggression, and externalizing problem behavior (Gartrell & Bos, 2010). There are fewer studies of children raised by two men, but gay fathers are more likely than straight fathers to put their children before their career, to make big changes in their lives to accommodate a child, and to strengthen bonds with their extended families after becoming fathers (Bergman, Rubio, Green, & Padrone, 2010).” ~ Martha Rosenthal, Human Sexuality: From Cells to Society, p.247.
How do you quantify success? Achievement of goals set by yourself? Goals set by others? How do you know when you've progressed on to success? Or is success just the ability to not give up when faced with adversity? And how does the answer to that question potentially alter the quantification of failure? I hate questions and I hate failure. But I really shouldn't.

#Stiles’s canon acceptance and need for power is an important part of his character #He has almost an addiction to control #I don’t know if it’s because he’s so insecure about himself #Or because he’s trying to make up for feeling so out of control about what his mom did #or what #the REASONS don’t excuse or negate this #Stiles has a cruel streak #He enjoys violence and fear as long as he’s the one causing it #And just because he recognizes that it’s wrong doesn’t mean he can always stop #or that he always wants to stop #So please PLEASE don’t fall into the helpless wooby human Stiles trap #Stiles is not delicate or terrified #he’s about as fragile as a sharp piece of broken glass #Scott has always been the tether to his humanity their whole lives up until this season #And without Scott he spirals into this dark need #That’s what Void Stiles is #That’s the impact Scott has on him #Don’t make Stiles into a perpetual victim who just needs hugs or a magic dick to make him some gentle sweet packmom trope #Stiles is a weapon and he enjoys it just as much as it scares him
I have long said that in order for any comedy to truly succeed as a story, there has to be meat beneath the jokes. There has to be that moment when it is not funny any more.
This. This is that moment.
#honestly even though this is one of the best scripts there ever has been #that is the greatest line #it’s /groundbreaking/ in terms of how it frames vengeance quests; temptation beats; inigo as a comedic figure throughout the movie #you know because this is a happy book (film) that inigo will get his revenge #but will he get JUSTICE #will he get ABSOLUTION #will he get CATHARSIS #those are the things we don’t know #and that line sells it more than any of the previous scene (x)

Stupid is when you think you can't leave an establishment cause you haven't finished your drink and then you sit there and chug it until you feel sick to your stomach but hey at least you can leave now right?
