A Time of Grieving || Ray & Jane
Jane gratefully took the handkerchief from the man. “Thank you” she said her tears beginning to stop. She then took the handkerchief and rubbed at her eyes, brushing away the still fresh tears. “No, you don’t have to go, you were here first anyway. And beside I’m not sure if I want to be alone right now” she said. After hearing her voice come from her mouth, she couldn’t believe her eye. She sounded so desperate and needy, that wasn’t like her.
Raymond offered a small smile, empathetic to her struggle. He knew that emotion well. "Okay," he replied, turning and looking back to the rows of gravestones. "I'll stay as long as you need me. You can take my hand, if you need it." It sounded like such a stranger offer on the surface, but grief was.. painful. He knew it helped to have someone there.
